Who the fark prints an entire article in italics?  It's like they forgot to close a tag or something.

Anyone who cares already knows this and you aren't going to get the ones that don't know this to believe it.  No matter how often you tell them.

That's why it's so ridiculous when the right screams about the liberal "mainstream" media. The media is all owned by giant corporations which are anything but liberal. But of course, their propaganda doesn't have to be true; it just has to ring true to a large enough audience to influence elections.

Exactly.  This carries to everyone except for newspapers, who are doing the same thing, yet too slowly to give dumb people what they want: needlessly alarming bullsh*t.  Even the Washington Post is 1/3rd question mark headlines these days.

The next step is downsizing congressmen. First media corporations will lower their contributions, since they can buy the same influence for less. Then they'll lay off a few as an example. Then a few more. The remaining congressmen will realize that FOX is too big to fail and just capitulate.

Newt genuinely believed that he personally, rather than his billionaire minders, would run the show. That's why he and his freakshow wife are ignored at rightwing hodowns now.

Anyway, game over. The billionaires won.

A scary thought that rings true to a certain extent, but it looks like it's in the process of ending with a whimper as one side gets old and dies off.

Hopefully this isn't just my own wishful thinking, here...

I love that the right-wing still pushes the "Joe Biden is an idiot and a gaffe machine" line after he wiped the floor with their golden boy in the 2012 VP debate.  He completely destroyed Paul Ryan's chances of ever being elected President that night.

Yes, I distinctly remember when Wolf Blitzer called that one a "draw" . Just in case we didn't already know how badly CNN sucks, that pretty much drove it home.

They had to join the Right Wing Media or lose funding. They went from centrist to Derp almost overnight in 2011 when the Republican House threatened to cut their government funding. They don't even try to hide it. NPR lost all credibility, they just broadcast what the money tells them to.

Being waged by one side.

Fox News is discussing how Obamacare destroys religious freedom. CNN is discussing the Emmys. MSNBC is airing ancient prison documentaries for the 5000th time.

So, corporations control media content. This is no big news. It's just marketing a product to consumers. I drink Pepsi, but feel no outrage toward Coca-Cola or 7-UP. Dr. Pepper is a different matter.

Yup.  I've "liked" NPR on Facebook, and I roll my eyes every time I see their "Double Take Toons" schtick.  The "liberal" one generally makes a coherent and sometimes incisive point about the issue of the day, while the "conservative" one just re-hashes the same old debunked derp in the most obnoxious ways possible.

But hey, not giving equal time to the Teabaggers would be partisanship, right?

NPR asks questions? Usually when I turn it on they have the right-wing person spewing his/her derp and leaves it to the left-wing person to call him/her out on it.
