Allen. The end.: soosh: Allen. The end.: Ah, Aretha! Good to know...and, for my dad, if there's any little (disturbingly) Benny Hill thing you could play...hell, I'd think even "Yakety Sax" would be cool...and is this percussion-bass-groove Amon Tobin? Diggin it!

Yeah, this is Amon Tobin.  His music is all samples, much of it collected in city streets.

I'll see what I can find from Benny Hill.

Aces! For the record - do you ver want people to send in old, rare, weird, etc., ...stuff?

Absolutely.

No promises, but I'll try and get them in.  I'm using my phone tonight and it's kinda iffy.

As long as they don't eat chickens on your porch.

I was eating chicken on my porch earlier...I don't know what that says about me. But the bird was good, and if you are ever in north Alabama (you poor bastard) you have dinner and a roost!

you said you were using a bluetooth speaker, right?
is it perhaps between your device and your wireless signal source? That can create issues.

I miss that stuff.

Ha!  My cousin's husband over there owns a farm and makes his own, mostly from pears.  It's awesome, so flavorful, and will lay you on your ass faster than a speeding train.  :)

I had some trouble with it, too, just testing it.  try the link at krnn.org.   Some of my Firefox settups block the listen link, but it always works in Chrome.

when I was really young my mom made her dad some slivovic using fruit from his then mostly defunct orchard. She forgot about it for 6 months beyond when she was supposed to take it to him. A highlight of my week is making it to a computer in time to hear it.

/csb, was in juneau awhile ago,
thanks for all the travel suggestions.
missed the bears and buying you a beer.

Oh, cool, I wondered how your trip went?  What all did you do?

wife and I had a great time taking a three and four year old up there on the plane. stewardesses were nice, but of course one of my snowflakes has an allergy, but compensates nicely by announcing that boogers taste great....

so dropped the kids off with family and
visited the brewery
Tram
Whale watching
Salmon fishing - beat water with lure, both salt and lake fishing
Tourist - lots of photos, glacier, mailboxes, a shot of krnn with a rainbow
Ate burritos on a balcony
bought awesome, cheap clothes from the tshirt factory.

/we had a great time with a cell phone breakdown on the third day, and spent the next seven without them.  from there we pretty much tried to stalk you (sorta kidding) by asking store owners about poster promos's around town, and trying to visit every bar and loudly bring up the livingstone stapler company.

Had a similar problem in NW Washington state. The cat was a puddle on the floor until I got a window unit! I wanted to rent a hotel room, but they were all booked except for the non-cooled units - curses! Also, hot jazz - a fair constant?

50% right now, which is low.   If you were outside today, there were nice breezes off the ocean.  It was pleasantly warm, but not oppressively so.

Yeah, it's hot when it's up there.   Almost no buildings have air conditioning and the sun is out for nearly 20 hours right now.  Houses heat right the f*ck up.

What's the humidity like? That's gotta be awful.

It varies a lot - but it kicks my ass...it's a physical thing...like walking through soup...

My son's in TN at Bonnaroo. He called me this morning and was like " holy shiat, the humidity!" We live just off Lake Erie, so we get just a few days of serious humidity in summer.

To which song are you referring?  If it's the Donovan, no, I don't know.

When played for the first time in 1966 , Season of the Witch came in at a little over four minutes. It broke the ceiling for radio "timed" songs.
Music industry execs / AD agency execs & Program directors were holding listeners hostage. Average play time was limited to 2 minutes / 30 seconds.
Less music meant MORE ads. Within 2 years late night DJ's were playing complete sides of records .... Because of Season of the Witch.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) - A felony assault charge has been filed against a Fairbanks woman accused of stabbing her stepbrother in the leg with a butcher knife.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports that police arrived to find the stepbrother bleeding in the living room and the woman, 31-year-old Lindsey Lee Preshaw, in the bedroom.

The newspaper reports that the stepbrother is also the father of the woman's two children.

Preshaw told investigators she acted in self-defense. A witness, however, said she had been walking down a hall with a butcher knife, saying she was going to kill the victim.

The stepbrother was taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital with an entry wound on the top of his calf and an exit wound on the bottom of his calf.

tinfoil-hat maggie: Notabunny: Allen. The end.: tinfoil-hat maggie: Allen. The end.: tinfoil-hat maggie: soosh: Allen. The end.: Also - up to 85? FAAAAAAAACK. That's gonna be hot. I'm in Atlanta and the gee-whiz 'get used to it' is in the low 90s. I refuse!!! And I grew up with Englebert  on 8-track eating lunch at the restaurant owned by my grade-school friend whose parents were spooky Greek mafia. Opa!

I know what the south's humidity is like.I definitely know Huntsvilles ; )

I'm getting used to it - dammit! OK, I'm off to bed - friending you, too!

I recommend California.

But what part cuase well I hate LA.

Second Aikido class yesterday. My back bothered me all week and although I was feeling much better by Friday morning, Saturday's class seems to have found just the right way to prod it back into extreme pain.

The instructor noticed my grimacing and had us do other non-flippy stuff. More emphasis on stances and basic locks. It reminded me a lot of yoga, actually.

Missed the show today. How was it?
