As far as movie parents go, you can't get much better than JK Simmons and Allison Janney from Juno.

I don't see how the dads from True Lies or Die Hard are good "dads". I get that they're cool characters, but as fathers didn't they kind-of suck?

Also, notably absent from the list, the movie I associate with Father's Day:

Good call. Significant omission. He should be at the top of the list.

Assuming Batty said "father" instead of "f*cker", this guy should be there.

"You were made as well as we could make you." - Tyrell

Seriously, what more can you ask of a father than that?

He must have said "father" because Tyrell calls Batty "the Prodigal Son"

FTFA
He soon gives birth to a son, Simba, and teaches his heir apparent how to become a noble leader.

Wouldn't that make him a mother, or some weird term for a hermaphrodite?

"Actually the Old Man loved it. He had always pictured himself in the pits of the Indianapolis Speedway in the 500. My old man's spare tires were actually only tires in the academic sense. They were round, they had once been made of rubber.  "

The dad from "Easy A" (Stanley Tucci) steals every scene he's in.  He deserves to be on the list.

Because it's Stanley Friggin' Tucci. He steals almost every scene in every movie he's ever been in.

The scene towards the end where he says "I'm here little chief" gets me as much as in FOD's "Wanna have a catch?"
