Good on him! Would have loved to see a bit of the archeology show....

You'd think he'd have used his knighthood to keep himself out of the trenches.

Sounds like the kind of thing that would happen to someone cunning as a fox who's just been appointed Professor of Cunning at Oxford University.

Two years ago, he married his statuesque partner Louise Hobbs, who is 34 years his junior and, at 5ft 9in, five inches taller than him. She is also younger than both his children from his 20-year relationship with Bristol solicitor Mary Shepherd.

Um...damn dude.

Is this where we post our favorite Blackadder quotes?

Lady Whiteadder: Then can you explain what he meant by "Great booze-up?"[Very long pause, as Blackadder thinks]Blackadder[haltingly] Yes, I can. My friend is a missionary... And on his last visit abroad... Brought back with him the chief of a famous tribe... His name is Great Boo... He's been suffering from sleeping sickness... And he's obviously just woken... Because, as you heard, "Great Boo's up."Percy[almost suffocating from holding his breath] Well done, Edmund.

Robinson's documentaries have always been fascinating and favorites of mine anytime I can queue them on netflix or elsewhere, and just for fun I'll pivot back to watching him in Blackadder. Baldrick is pretty much my favorite character throughout the series.

Also, hooked a babe 34 years his junior?

Baldrick Wins.

Any place where they are streaming?  Seems the only thing on Netflix is a Time Team DVD.

Yeh looks like they have rotated out of Netflix for the moment;  There seem to be "seasons" where Netflix rotates documentary series in/out of availability but keep a list and search for these, they'll probably all come back at once:

Tony Robinson's Gods & Monsters (series)
The Worst Jobs in History (Series)
Decoded: Dan Brown's Lost Symbol  <-- weakest of the many variant documentaries he's done, but probably would be the easiest to find. None of these currently in US Netflix :(

I think the world is ready for one more Black Adder. Make him a scheming middle manager competing against Hugh Laurie to climb the corporate ladder under Melchet or something.

Good idea, but set it during the mid 80's at the height of the yuppy boom.

Blackadder is still a great example of inspired television, something current shows can only hope to aspire to. It makes me happy to think of Baldrick as being Knighted, perhaps Rowan and Hugh will follow suit someday.

Wrong. KBE is a knighthood, that entitles you to call yourself Sir/Dame.

It goes MBE (Member) < OBE (Order) < CBE (Commander) < KBE (Knight). Then I tihnk there's some other stuff above that like Order of the Garter that you can only get if you're aristocracy or some such. The British Honours system is ridiculously over-complicated..

Blackadder: You made BALDRICK a Lord?
Prince George: Well, yes. One who has recently done sterling service, matching the political machinations of the evil Pitt. Good old Lord Baldrick!
Baldrick: It's all right Blackadder, you don't have to curtsey or anything.
Blackadder: Sir, might I let loose a short violent exclamation?
Prince George: Certainly.
Blackadder: DAMN!
