(Badass Digest)   A look back on the John Hughes Jaws comedy sequel that almost happened. It may have been terrible, but it still probably would have better than Jaws 3D   (badassdigest.com) divider line 12

Could have been worse, it could have been compared to Jaws 4: The Revenge.

The movie that almost had Michael Caine change his name to Alan Smithee.

No, that might screw up the deed.

I can remember reading about this after Jaws 2 came out. I can't seem to remember how I got news in that era though. Magazines? Weird.

I'd watch it as part of the Fourth of July Jaws marathon.

the description of the movie in TFA sounds terrible. that said Jaws 3D was pretty lame as well and Jaws 4 is among the worst movies ever made.

personally i'm waiting for a sequel to this movie.

I actually have this script. Back in the day (early '90's), a company called Script City (still around) offered unproduced scripts, and I ordered this one and "Animal House 2" just out of curiosity.

Both of them weren't very funny, and it was easy to see why they weren't produced. Other than the title, the only thing I remember as funny from "Jaws 3, People 0" was a quick exchange right at the beginning: Woman 1 offers Woman 2 a Quaalude, and Woman 2 says "No thanks, I'm walking."

"Animal House 2" offered a lot of repeats from the first one, but as I recall the climax takes place at a college football game rather than a parade. No mention at all of John Belushi's character other than a very short post credit scene where they all raise a toast to Bluto.

i read that as "John Holmes" and thought that might have been an interesting movie after all.

Hate all you want, but I really liked Jaws 3. It was the only Jaws movie I could ever sit through.
