That would depend on the type of umbrella I was carrying.

Some people just need stabbing in the eye, this guy was obviously one of them.

"Cops are looking for a black male and female, in their mid-20s, who were in the driver's 2000 Mercury sedan. "

Be on the lookout for Rhianna and Chris Brown?

RTFA

Car service.

Basically a by-reservation-only cab, usually used for longer-distance travel.

It's a "Car service" or otherwise known as a "Gypsy cab"

They're not yellow taxis that you can hail.  Although, they will illegally pick up fares.  And I think it's now semi legal for them to pick up in the outlying boros.

Also, according to the article, it was from NJ.

Aren't "car services" usually nice cars and not a 2000 Mercury?

/might have seen too many TV shows/movies with "car service"

My umbrella isn't the stabby kind, so I'd probably just stick to demeaning him in a made up language.

I've seen cabbies punched in the face, spat on, have beverages thrown at their face. What's sad is that trend appears to be either drunk people or couples where the gf/wife complained about something the driver did and the guy has to swipe his man card to make his woman happy.

==================

This isn't a limo service, it's a gypsy operation.  The cars tend to be beaters bought used at wholesale auctions.  Most of the cars are ex-police Ford Crown Vics with the occasional grandpa medicare sled, such as the this Mercury, thrown in the mix.  The Mercury is really just a Crown Vic with slightly nicer rat-fur interior.  New York cabbies/car services like the Crown Vic, and its Mercury and Lincoln derivatives because they are tough and easy/cheap to repair when something does break.

I drove a Grand Marquis for a number of years. It had leather seats, though. And when I got into an accident on the freeway the mechanic told me just replacing the front grill would cost more than the car was worth :(

I only use those telescoping umbrellas and they seem to always have blunt ends. But I bet I could rip out one of the metal pieces and go a little stabby with it if the situation really called for it.

I will say this for that Grand Marquis she had...it was the second-fastest car I have ever ridden in.

D1vwife is a smoker, and she ran out of cigarettes on a return trip from Seward.  She figured she would get some more at Summit Lake.  No, even 10 years ago Summit Lake had turned into a non-smoking town.  She took over the driving and that dinosaur practically flew the next 90 miles to Girdwood...

Wow, I didn't even know they made stabby umbrellas any more. Except oversized golfers umbrellas, and who carries those around town?
