Farking Muslims, bunch of freedom-hating terrorists...right?

So freaking true. My SO has been going back and forth to Qatar and Bahrain for the last year for work. We live in Missouri where some people are extremely xenophobic (and worse things). People warned him to be careful, "they" hate Americans, blah blah blah. DH says 99% of the people he has met are friendly and go out of their way to tell him how much they LIKE our president (specifically, our president). I'm not saying everyone in those countries is so much more modern thinking and perfect, but to assume they all absolutely hate Americans- hahaha! Yea, he is in pretty progressive countries (in my opinion), but still.

I had the odd fortune to have an Iranian roommate in college (in 1979, which wasn't the best time to be an Iranian in the US. He called himself a Persian, naturally, and he had to frequently make it clear that he was in the US because his family had run screaming from Iran. Accounting for cultural differences, he was still sort of an arrogant dick, but not nearly enough to warrant the abuse he received.

Also, it is my understanding is that Persian women are hot.

Looks like Rohani is winning!

He's the moderate for those not paying attention.  He wants "constructive interaction with the world".

Now the question is can he actually accomplish anything?
