Good thing it's based in the US and basically not subject to British laws on 'decency' or whatever they've got over there.

Ned Stark: YouTube gas a system of age restrictions in place.

That, and parents need to start paying attention to what their kids are watching. We need to stop legislating and start educating.

Same here.  As far as pop singers go, she's quite talented and she's actually signing about deeper things than the typical poptart garbage.

Was he watching the live version of I Touch Myself? Because that is kind of R rated.

And yeah, I like Pink just fine, but haters gonna hate!

Here I am, having clicked the video because I assumed it contained sexual content.

Nope. It was just about some chick that likes to cut herself.

And what does he propose?  Every website require you to give them your credit card number or soc sec number for "proof" of age???

While the internet had numerous benefits it also provided access to "all kinds of unsavoury and potentially harmful material" the Tory MP said and stressed the need to do more to protect youngsters.

If by unsavoury and potentially harmful material he means Hansard then yes, by all means block that shiat!

I'm no expert but...: While the internet had numerous benefits it also provided access to "all kinds of unsavoury and potentially harmful material" the Tory MP said and stressed the need to do more to protect youngsters.

If by unsavoury and potentially harmful material he means Hansard then yes, by all means block that shiat!

"access to "all kinds of unsavoury and potentially harmful material" is precisely the reason why I happen to LOVE the internet: it keeps those pedos and pervs at home watching whatever turns them on, and off the street and away from my family. (Yay, First Amendment!)

Yeah, I'm fine with Pink too.  Usually sends a better message to teen girls than most of the other pop brats.

A friend of my sister has a teenage daughter, her idol was Paris Hilton (This was 2-3 years ago)...*sigh*

Think that one is bad...

My wife and I saw a top rated music video on youtube the other day by Alli Simpson. We were curious, so we clicked it. Look up, "Why I'm single".

I've never before seen a music video with such low production cost, so little imagination, and so few lyrics. -or at least not since the 80s.

Pink: The Series with Natalie Raitano?  I totally didn't re-watch that shower scene 20 times.  I don't know what you're talking about!

2013-06-14 10:52:44 AM
I just watched the video in question. What the fark is wrong with it? Yes, the girl begins to attempt suicide for what, to us, may seem like transitory problems but the girls also turns that around and succeeds at her art, meets the man she was looking for, has a daughter of her own and passes her lifelong source of comfort on to her own daughter.

Mr British MP can fark right the fark off.

ladyfortuna Good thing it's based in the US and basically not subject to British laws on 'decency' or whatever they've got over there.I'd imagine we're one of the least censored countries in the world, if not the least.we certainly don't have an equivalent to middle america and their bibles weighing in at every opportunity. this is just one out of touch guy who wondered what this funny youtube button thingie is on his son's laptop

As far as message goes:

Ke$ha: "Wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy,Grab my glasses, I'm out the door, I'm gonna hit this city,Before I leave, brush my teeth with a bottle of Jack"
Pink: "Pretty, pretty please Don't you ever, ever feel Like your less than farkin' perfect Pretty, pretty please If you ever, ever feel Like your nothing You're farkin' perfect to me"

Katy Perry: "Take me, ta-ta-take meWanna be a victimReady for abduction"
Pink: "So if you're too school for cool And you're treated like a fool You could choose to let it go We can always, we can always party on our own"

Pink will out-sing practically every pop "star" out there. You may or may not enjoy her style, but you gotta admit that she's pretty good at what she does.

Out here it was widely discussed following Hunter Thompson's 'suicide' that what got him dead was the book he was finishing on how widespread  Pedophelia is in Washington, DC. As in 'makes the whole Roman church thing pale in comparison'.

SAnd by 'out here' I mean within shouting distance of folks who had daily doings with the man.

I really loathe modern pop music, but even I can admit Pink has pipes and can sing the shiat out of a song. She really does have talent.

The problem with Pink is that she sings BAD songs. It's kind of a shame that such a decent singer wastes her talents on crap.

So the verdict: Pink has talent, but no taste.

2013-06-14 12:57:34 PM
About 75% of what's on YouTube shouldn't be seen by anyone. let alone kids. That being said, age restriction wont work.

meanmutton: Ke$ha: "Wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy

What's that lyric supposed to mean? "I woke up in the morning feeling as though I had no discernable skills whatsoever and was saddled with an excessively silly self-inflicted nickname and knew that I had nothing to look forward to that day other than dropping by recording studios so I could show up on other people's albums dropping a well timed "yeah!" or "Uh-huh" into the backing vocals?"

Or does it mean she woke up and noticed she had a dong?

While it wasn't my cup of tea music wise.  The subject matter of the video is exactly the type of thing a person with those types of feelings should be watching.

Leave it to a powerful clueless old man to not understand that.

From the Farking Article:

He was speaking during an opposition debate about protecting children online, which heard calls for action to stop youngsters from seeing internet pornography and to stop the sharing of abusive images. Concerns have been heightened after the killers of April Jones and Tia Sharp were found to have viewed abusive images online before murdering their victims.

Keep in mind that Britain was the source of a failed medical study about the effects of pornography on young men's atttitudes towards sex and women.  I say failed, because they simply couldn't find any young men who didn't regularily view pornography for the control group. :p

2013-06-14 02:23:26 PM
Yeah, because it is not like the kids can see something "worse" than this elsewhere on the internet.

2013-06-14 03:08:28 PM
'Graphic images of a girl self-harming.'

Yeah, the video contains that. It is also a song about learning to accept yourself and has a message at the end about getting help. I have a little cousin who used to cut and she stopped and got help shortly after seeing that Pink video. And my own sister switched from the liberal arts degree she was heading for to a hard science after realizing that going for something easy and relying on her looks might not be the best idea. When she was explaining why she switched to our parents (who have liberal-arts-type degrees,) she showed them 'Stupid Girls.' Pink's 'So What' is the best breakup song of the past ten years and its' comforted many of my friends.

And I think 'Raise Your Glass' is a great party song.

So the MP can kindly go fark right off.
