FLMountainMan: Jim_Callahan: El Pachuco: Atomic Spunk: The term " sociopath" is overused, but in his case, it certainly seems to fit.

There's no functional difference between this guy and SEAL Team 6.   Seriously.  They both kill whoever they're told to kill, no questions.

And our military units, especially for marines (which the Seal teams are in the literal sense, albeit not literally in the branch of the military with that name), specifically and openly target sociopaths and outright psychopaths for recruitment.  I don't think the word is used, but in the recruiting descriptions it might as well be.

Then the training is (again explicitly, no hiding their purpose here) designed to exacerbate those characteristics.

Basically I'm not sure what your point is, you seem to just be agreeing with the dude you're quoting in a strangely specific way.

Have you ever actually met someone in the military, or is this just what the professor down at the JuCo told you?

Did you have to ask? The answer to that is obvious.

Was going to make sure this was covered.  Good, we need to make sure they understand that there is an expected level of professionalism.  I bet he accepted his death as just business.

I don't know if you're trolling or not, but however we pretend or try to romanticize it, you are pretty much correct. There's no shame in accepting the world as it is and not as we imagine it ought to be. This is true even if it offends us - and even if there is no way to live in a world where it isn't true.

Its nice that drug cartels give out a credit line but the interest rates and penalties can be murder.

Ditto. That was a pretty sobering video. That shrink was good.

In that case, it would be the tax collectors who kill you if you don't pay.
