It's fairly hilarious to watch how the GOP handles the NSA scandal.  Finally!  A real scandal!  But instead of actually seizing on it, they fritter away their time with this crap (when not advocating rape).  Why?  Because the real scandal is that Obama is too much like Bush, and they can't figure out a way to capitalize on that.  It's not an easy message to pull off given their previous cheer-leading for identical policies, even for a group as brazenly hypocritical as the GOP.

They're planning how to expand the powers once a Republican gets elected...

dookdookdook: Pincy: Can someone post the outraged Conservative talking points on this issue?  I'm not sure what I should be mad about yet.

Let's check in with  The Blaze's always-completely-sane commenters for help on that one.

DERP

You've done some fine and noble work there. Taking the derp so the rest of us don't have to wade through it. Kudos. Take the rest of the day off, you've earned it.

fusillade762: a reading from Rice's "The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty," which was written under the pseudonym A. N. Roquelaure.

I'm only outraged that she couldn't find better erotica.

I'm confused as to why we're supposed to be outraged. So far, I'm unsure as to how this hobby somehow makes her less suitable for the job...?

Isitoveryet: with all the focus on privacy lately (or the invasion of it), im really not interested in politicians personal lives, tell you what, if they get the job & do it well, i could care less what they do on their personal time, this is America.

Dirty little secrets

Do you have any proof that those posters are conservatives?

Dude, you can't even prove that you're a conservative.

I don't even understand what the ones about martinis and waterboarding are even supposed to mean.

jake_lex: jbc: So is the GOP actually outraged by the content or by the fact that a woman was allowed to learn how to read?

Yeah, I'm not sure why I"m supposed to give a shiat about this story.

Me either, but I love subby's headline...

So they really no longer have an excuse to fail someone on a lifestyle polygraph for sexual kinkiness?  Cool.

Dude O Matic 5000: So....am I supposed to be warglwarbl outraged here or something?  My care meter is pegged on 0.

Yeah, I'm actually running pretty choleric on the administration at the moment, so I'm inclined to be less charitable about the personal failings of the executive branch than I might normally be, and I  still couldn't be paid to give a shiat about someone's entirely un-employment-related hobbies back when they were goddamned 24.

Honestly, the only thing that I picked up from TFA was that the woman was at one point a small-business owner and isn't ashamed of her sex life particularly (i.e. not blackmailable on those grounds).  That's like 1 billion percent more qualifications than the usual person being put in the position has, I vote hire her before she regains her sanity and finds a non-government job that won't have NY Post reporters going through her high-school yearbook.

THIS! Who the fark could possibly care about this. What you do in your private life isn't relevant to your professional life. People who *don't* enjoy sexy things are the broken ones, as has been proven over and over and over again.

Oh yeah Bill Pipe slow-jam music into your shower!

I wanna hear her read this,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, slowly.

Plus she read it she didn't write it, even if she did that 50 shade "flick the bean" or whatever it's called has been on the New York Times bestseller list for a couple of years.

People like sex. Surprise.

I lol'd at Anne Rice being a prime example of erotica.

Anyone else get a "weird and pathetic pick-up attempt by lonely male reporters" vibe form this story?  This doesn't even merit high-school level gossip, this is middle-school "Guy's guy's! Debora is reading 'Forever' by Judy Bloom, that means we can get to second base with her!!!" type shiat.

The fact that this is a news story at all makes me weep for this country.

DeaH: It's okay, GOP. All the heroines turned out to be lawfully married to men. No body used birth control. They chose life. And they cut taxes for the rich.

Ooohhh yeah... Go on...

Maybe he was hoping to get to third base on James O'Keefe's dildo-boat.
