Didn't we read something about this on FARK like last week or something?

2013-06-13 11:49:01 AM
Repeat.

But only a tiny one.

Also this appears to be the same story that we had before.

Any other washed up quarterbacks we're going to discuss while we're at it?

Well, he was such a jerk maybe the repeat is deserved? Brett should have retired as a Packer, and he would have been a God in that town, despite winning just one Super Bowl. Hell, Eli Manning already has two in just nine years with the Giants.

Oh come on...who among us has never jerked around an organization that worshiped you for nearly two decades and after a lot of hemming and hawing you unceremoniously bolt to eventually go to work for their rival? Who here hasn't texted pictures of your junk to some babe you're hoping to motorboat while your wife isn't looking?

Who in this room doesn't own Crocs?

I was at fault," Favre said. "I feel that both sides had a part in it.

So wait. It's all his fault but both sides are at fault? Okay, got it.

Has he apologized for whining about how "he might retire" every offseason for the better part of a decade, before he even started retiring and un-retiring?  Or is this more of his stunted 2007-forward historical perspective?

Yeah, but with the Patriots supposedly putting a lid on Tebow, Fark is falling back on its back-up plan.

Also, from the article:

That's why Mary dumped his ass.

FTFA: "It's over and done with. I was at fault," Favre said. "I feel that both sides had a part in it. If you could go back would I or them have done things differently? I'm sure both sides would. But you can't."

Hell of an apology there, Brett.

subby and whoever greenlit this story is a dick.

the guy is retired, not coaching, and is not affiliated with any team.

Come to think, Ben Roethlisberger has 2 in that same time period as well.

ESPN revisionist history.  The man retired one time as a packer.  just the once, look it up.  He kind of retired as a Jet, but they did release him without that actually happening.

So really, he retired ONCE and came back.

one time.

Is it his fault that ESPN asked him constantly if he was going to retire?  What is he supposed to do, say he is sure if he isnt?

I sound fat: Is it his fault that ESPN asked him constantly if he was going to retire?  What is he supposed to do, say he is sure if he isnt?

Yeah, it kinda is if you're talking about how you're wanting to retire as early as 2002. And it gets to the point where the team drafts a QB in the first round in 2005...and then you keep saying you're retiring at the end of the season, only to say "nah, I want back in."

/not a Packers fan
//an Aaron Rodgers fan from his college days
///so yeah, f*ck Favre

He only officially retired twice.  He did hold press conferences after each season to state that he wasn't sure if he should retire or not, then he proceeded to spend the entire summer trying to decide if it was worth coming back.  This decision process would continue through OTAs and training camp up until the beginning of pre-season where he would magically decide that he wouldn't retire after having missed all of training camp.

So yes, he didn't official retire except for one time as a Packer and one time as a Viking.  The other times were just his indecisiveness.

Noones mentioned the vibe I got off the article...which is all about the jersey retiring, and not about any sort of 'apology'.

Brett wants more glory and worship when GB retires his number.  And probably expects that the Vikes will too.  Maybe the Jets too.

Does the NFL Hall of Fame do something like MLB's 'hat' thing, representing a certain thing?  If they do, I imagine that Brett's media boner must be HUGE thinking of how he can milk THAT debate for more face time...
