What about when the midget hung himself from a tree in the background? Or that creepy ghost boy behind the curtains?

A pimp on 42st in Manhattan/Metropolis in the 1970s? More likely than you think.

I always liked the way holding the tips of Superman's fingers allowed Lois' entire body to levitate gracefully.

Looks to be Slaughterhouse Five, although she's whipped out the Tessmachers in more places than that.

Tactile telekinesis. Duh.

(Wait a second. If "tele" means "at a distance", wouldn't having to touch the object make it just "tactile kinesis"?)

I would just like to take this time to state, for the record, that I have no problem with Miss Teschmacher's breasts.

Mom went to high school with her.  Apparently she was very popular with the boys.

Hey now, remember kids now-a-days forget what women looked like when they weren't photoshopped and didn't have a history of 1000 plastic surgeries.

Saw this movie last night. Funniest bit was when you hear the little girls mom smack her for telling lies. I laughed so hard at that part. Btw I grew up with the superman movies and I dunno I can still watch them now. Weirdness and all. Maybe cuz right now I'm on a retro bluray mode. Watching all the original Star Trek movies on BR for the first time and surprisingly enjoyed all so far(finished the first four) plus Lawrence of Arabia. And Gandhi. And taxi driver. Retro mode indeed.

Gina Gershon doesn't think so.

My mother always hated that scene when you hear the girl get smacked. I was always like, "Hey, she might actually have been a chronic liar or something." What I like to imagine though is the mother's reaction the next day when she sees Superman on the front page of The Daily Planet.

I was also always amused by that scene when Superman says goodbye to the cat, Frisky, because that was my cat's name.

Gods, yes. The subtle gifs with clean loops are cool, but ones with lots of motion that just cut back to the beginning are painful.

That's easy. As a parent, you point out to the child that it had prolly done something for which it had not been caught and punished so, therefore, the slap applies to that undiscovered act.

Quote from Ms. Perrine:
"I have a lot of gay friends. I understand them. Who wouldn't like sucking cock?"

She rose a lot in my estimation with those words. Yay fellatio!

/Also, lesbians: I understand you.

Can't you see I'm Bi?
Don't you know that I want your goo on me?
I know what you are -
With your red boots from a go-go bar.
Here I am, put your hands on my tool;
Don't squeeze hard, or I'll sound like my mother...
Will you look at me, Jisming
So hot that "S" on your chest is sizzling
Now go on and screw me...
Can you read my mind?
Can you picture the things I'm thinking of?
Do you bend that way,
To take on all my friends at play?
You're a guy!
Poke around in my fly!

etcetera and so on...

The lines in the "poem" are the lyrics to the song.  They probably had her read the lyrics because she couldn't sing.

Famously Valerie Perrine takes a shower in "Steambath" which was scandalous on PBS.

Superman burned through three directors, which is why it's like 3 different movies.

Serious on Krypton.

Straight in Smallville.

Comic book:  "Miss Tecmacher" "Anyting you say Mr. Lu - thor."

It's pre-Crisis Superman. Things like talking clouds and spinning the earth the other way to undo tragedy were commonplace.

Pre-Crisis Batman had a deus ex machina belt, Superman had the same power sans belt.
