I'd like to live halfway up a mountain, near a desert. Maybe a bit under the tree line. If it gets too hot, no big deal, you just head up the mountain and cool off in the snow. If it gets too cold, just head down for a while and enjoy some dry heat.

Sounds pleasant.

I'd also like it if I had healthy mountain neighbors whose lovely daughters in their early 20s enjoyed bathing in the trout stream that ran through my marijuana forest.

Yeah. I think that would be nice as well.

On second thought, I don't care so much about the snow and desert shiat.

That's actually where I got the idea in the first place. I lived in Reno for a while. Driving up to Tahoe was a pretty fair way to escape the summer.
My original post was kind of meant lightheartedly, but I must admit I've pondered it in all seriousness from time to time.

Mt Lemmon in AZ near Tucson would fit the bill nicely.

As an aside - thanks, I've been trying to remember the varietal of one of the best wines I've ever had. That was it.

Salice Salentino is a region, not a grape variety.
The one I had last night is 80% Negroamaro and 20% Malvasia Nero
