If you hadn't banged the reality-TV flavor of the month, you'd already be over, Kanye.

2013-06-12 11:35:36 AM
who?

2013-06-12 11:38:10 AM
False equivalency.  By all reports, Jobs was an angry douche just to the people he worked with.  West is an angry douche to every person on the planet.

2013-06-12 11:38:19 AM
Yeah, well...if you have to say it yourself, then really, not so much.

TL. DR.

But the other night he was walking thru the streets of NYC looking like his usual asshole self (see below)
i.dailymail.co.uk

When a photographer asked: 'What's good, Kanye?' his response was: 'Don't ask me questions, man!' The photographer said goodbye to Kanye, but when he wished him a happy belated birthday, the rapper shot back: 'Shut up! Don't ever talk.'

I would have been like "Blah blah blah I'm talking. What you gonna do about it? Run into another sign?"

The next day.....
"Man, I'm so mad at that sign. Don't talk to me sign"

Hole up, Steve. Ima let you finish, but I'm greatest attractive and successful African-American of all time!

2013-06-12 12:09:04 PM
Sure he's a nutter but I look for that in my pop musicians.  I do enjoy his music at least what I've heard of it.

2013-06-12 12:16:20 PM
Kanye West is a pretentious twatwaffle.

2013-06-12 12:18:31 PM
I can honestly say I have never heard a Kanye West song.  I am basing my assessment of him solely on how he comports himself in public.

He's a farking asshole.

I'm pretty sure he wins the self-love/self-importance award of the century. I will give him that. He might want to apply for the Guinness Book for largest ego.

give me doughnuts: If you hadn't banged the reality-TV flavor of the month, you'd already be over, Kanye.

Ha. Yea, ok. Keep telling yourself that. It's not like he has one of the most anticipated albums of the year coming out next month. If anything, being tied to Kim is tying him down. (BTW, she's a repugnant person and I despise her family, but her show has been on for almost 6 years)

/loves Kanye's music, doesn't pay attention to his antics

2013-06-12 01:06:16 PM
Jeez, what an asshole.

2013-06-12 01:06:56 PM
I have to admit, he was right about the Beyonce video. I only saw it because of the Taylor Swift debacle, and I have to say, "Yup, 'tard was right."

One of the co-founders of Apple, along with Steve Wozniak.

Heh

No.  No 'tard was not right.  Beyonce can sing, but her dancing looks like she is having an epileptic fit.  And a video of her doing her Elaine Benes spasmodic convulsions cannot be considered one of the best videos of all time.  Of all time.

/And this is in no way a defense of Taylor Swift, BTW.

KANYE WEST

He should run for public office.

2013-06-12 01:11:31 PM
Kanye's music is best when it's the collaborations he's done with other artists. His own lyrics are trite and laughable, and he's proven himself to be either insane or retarded many times over at this point, but damn if he doesn't bring out the best in others.

2013-06-12 01:11:41 PM
Just shut the fark up, already.

2013-06-12 01:13:39 PM
Every once in a while in that interview he says something to remind you that it isn't satire, even though it sounds like it. If this guy wasn't so wealthy he'd be in a mental institution.

2013-06-12 01:14:03 PM
A certain degree of bravado is expected in hip hop and rap artists.

Kanye is running a dangerously high fever.

If he's anything IRL like he presents himself in the media, he is the very definition of insufferable BUT he has put out a couple of decent songs over the years. He needs to find some of the humility he supposedly had when he first got into the industry.

2013-06-12 01:16:58 PM
I don't normally wish this on people, but the only thing I want to see in common between Kanye West and Steve Jobs is pancreatic cancer.

Eat  shiat, Kanye, you over-produced hack.

2013-06-12 01:20:27 PM
What, pray tell, is "cool" about stream-of-consciousness rants from hip hop's most petulant artist, subby? Or is that the joke?

2013-06-12 01:22:54 PM
I would still think of Taylor Swift as a classy lady if she punched Kanye right in the balls when he jumped onstage.

"Hell of a Life" is a pretty good song.

The problem is that music as a galvanizer of popular culture is over. The Beatles did it already for Baby Boomers with rock and roll, and everything after that was fragments of what they did.

Gen X's galvanizing factor was cable television, with Star Wars, MTV and conforming with pop culture being the obvious galvanizers.

Millenials' rock and roll and TV has been technology (which includes video games and the Internet).  Steve Jobs was a prophet to them because he was behind the charge to make that technology personally meaningful.

The next generation will likely find meaning in something else we don't yet have or use today -- virtual reality or augmented reality, perhaps? Whatever it is, whomever will lead the charge through it is not at a point of prominence yet (unless, like Jobs, they're at the forefront of tech now and will reinvent themselves later).

Kanye West will play very little role in that future.

2013-06-12 01:27:30 PM
Hey guys, stealing other people's music and writing really unintelligent lyrics over the top of them is hard work!  Leave Kanye alone !

2013-06-12 01:29:18 PM
Can someone please explain what, if anything, is cool about this guy?

2013-06-12 01:29:56 PM
It's hard to believe someone that the majority of people think so little of thinks he is so great.

PacificaFitz: It's hard to believe someone that the majority of people think so little of thinks he is so great.

That hurt my f*cking brain more than listening to Kanye West talk.
