Silly Subby, supply side policies only work after the person who put them in place is voted out of office.

It's not Walker's fault, clearly he just underestimated how deep and powerful the Evil Unions really were.

Shocking.  You mean a corrupt demagauge who villified public employees and unions while doing everything asked of him by wealthy campaign benefactors isn't working in the best interests of the state that he governs?

True.  I bet the real reason for all of this is that too many lazy poors refuse to work minimum wage jobs without benefits.

His economic policy was never about job creation. It was always about funneling as much money into the pockets of his corporate masters as possible.

Shocking.  You mean business isn't flocking to a state with a stable, civil political environment headed by a master of compromise who thoroughly understands the consequences of his psychopathically single-minded agenda?  AMAZEBALLS.

Meanwhile, any teacher worth a damn who didn't already live there is going to stay the hell away, leading to a further deterioration of schools in the state.  So not only did he fark the entire place within a few short years, but his farking will continue long into the future.

YAY Repugs!

I recognize Governor Walker's responsibility for this abysmal job creation rate. This fall is a direct consequence of the Governor not pushing harder for more tax cuts for the rich.

It has more to do with the fat lazy uneducated alcoholic citizens than the governor. I sold my business in Appleton and I would move to another state to open another one. There are mainly two types of workers here. Fat lazy uneducated alcoholic racist bigoted redneck union haters and fat lazy uneducated alcoholic racist bigoted redneck union lovers. They both spend most of their time at the bar obsessing about sports and blaming somebody else for all their problems.

I don't understand why anybody would put a business here other than a restaurant or a sports bar. I am so grateful I sold mine before it was too late. The new owners all ready ran it into the ground. I'm not sure if they resold it or filed bankruptcy. Didn't care enough to look and I really don't want to know. It's too depressing considering how much work I put into that place.

2013-06-12 09:14:15 AM
Snark aside...how many people are going to move their employees and their businesses to a state with a government that is hellbent on demoralizing and sh*tting on its public schools?  If you are living in Wisconsin, regardless of your political affiliation, chances are good that your kids, your employees' kids, and your neighbors kids are going to go to public school.

For those of you who don't know how macroeconomics work, I'll explain it to you. In order to have double digit growth, you have to contract the economy first. During this contraction, you crush the unions and lower taxes, so that you can cash in when the economy goes into a boom time. Next thing you know, you'll be sitting on a giant pile of gold certificates, guns, and freedom. Who doesn't want all those things? Well, I know from first hand accounts that Obama doesn't want those things for you, so i guess the only person we can trust to lead us into the next decade is Scott Walker. Maybe I should start calling him Uncle Scott, I like that so much more than Uncle Joe.

2013-06-12 09:23:53 AM
I don't get it... they keep trying this "conservative" policies that have been shown in the real world to fail over and over again.  I'm amazed they haven't seen positive results.  Perhaps if they just keep trying.

2013-06-12 09:24:28 AM
You don't understand! He just needs to cut even more public sector jobs, and give  bigger tax cuts to rich people! It's Oblambo and the unions' fault that he hasn't been able to accomplish enough!

Higher education just lost $35 m over 2 years in Kansas, while expressly forbidding Universities from cutting programs. State care for the poor and developmentally disabled is being cut. Our sales tax is going up, top tax bracket income tax is going down, elementary and secondary education got no new money despite being $500 m short, and they're going to raid the highway maintenance funds to pay for at least some of this. Oh, and most state workers probably aren't getting raises again, which for some would be the 5th straight year.

So I guess what I'm saying is, "You ain't seen nothin' yet".

Jobs are just Schroedinger's talking point. Government doesn't create jobs when a Republican governor's state isn't creating them or when a black president advocates government spending to create them, but government is supposed to create them when the job market is recovering but not at a pace that was projected (not promised) by a black president.

I believe the general mantra to keep the base inspired is that it'll trickle down eventually. Once he gets voted out of office, the wreckage left behind is the new guy's fault. Rabble enough, and the public votes in another Walker. It's a tried and true long-term strategy, at least in state politics.

I sold it at a profit and retired at 39. Your comment makes no sense. Your reading comprehension skills are exactly why I wouldn't start another business here. You must be from Wisconsin.

This is unpossible. I was specifically told by prominent Republicans and FARK IndependentsTM that lowering taxes for the ultra rich and disbanding unions enables job creators to create more jobs.

The unions and democrats dropped the ball on that one.  They should have called for a general strike among the public service employees rather than putting all their eggs in the shiatty recall basket.

I thought Scooter's selling off of Public Utilities, sticking it to the Unions and generally being a gigantic asshole that supports mega-corps over small business was supposed to make Wisconsin the Republican/Conservative paradise?

Wow. Color me shocked.

I think the problem there is that a general strike would have played directly into the GOP's "public employees and their unions are bad" narrative.
