HeathenHealer: /sorry for the tender moment

And I just went and kicked my 19 year old in the butt because he can't even frikkin' skate.

Not my fault, I got him out on the ice early.  He just was never interested.  He runs cross country in college and I'm very proud of him.

Kids do not really talk like that, but nice try buddy boy.  HeathenHealer:

My son is watching the opening montage with me. He sees all the players hoisting the cup,

Son: What's that thing they're holding daddy? (he just turned 4)

Me: That's the Stanley Cup buddy, the most important trophy in hockey

Son: I'm going to win that someday daddy, you can help me

Gives son biggest hug ever

/sorry for the tender moment

Primitive Screwhead: It's no wonder 2013 feels a lot like 2011 for Bruins fans

I went to college with him. He was my next door neighbor for a couple years in the dorms. Good kid, certainly knows his hockey.

First, Claude Julian of the Bruins!

Good evening everyone in Farkistan, hopefully all your hatches are battened down.  I'm hoping that The Storm doesn't hit here (southern edge of TWC's "OMG, everyone's going to die" map) until after the game.  Regardless, the hamster is up & awake & ready to jump on the generator wheel to power at least the computer to keep watching the game....  We'll see, it could be an interesting evening.

But hey, HOCKEY!!!.  It's been a long couple of days after the massive infusion of great hockey over the past month or so.  So let's all hope for a really tight multiple OT game tonight.  In Chicago the storm will be so bad that people won't be allowed to leave the arena for a while so they may as well keep playing.

In the end though, for a convoluted personal reason* my support is thrown more or less towards Boston.  Enough to cheer for them but not enough not to be able to enjoy the great hockey going in both directions.  Let's drop the puck.

/*I'm hoping that if Boston wins it might be enough for Selanne to come back for another year, especially if going out on top means anything to Jagr (personally I doubt it, he seems to be shopping for paychecks these past couple of years).  If he (Jagr) does retire then Selanne has a reasonably good chance of catching up to/passing him on the all time point chart.  Along with, if he has a really good year, getting to 700 goals.  So go Boston.....
//told you it was convoluted

Yeah, and NBA threads get about 20% of the number of posts as that other Predetermined "sport" gets every week.  Your point?

Good luck. Happened to me last year -- make sure she gets unemployment and then FMLA once the baby is born. I'm now a stay-at-home mom making it work -- gives me more time to spend with the kids watching hockey. :-)

Also, in honor of Chicago, Don's wearing Capone pinstripes

Chicago is playing The Motor City Madman as background music?  Ooookaaay....

Given Chicago's musical tradition surely they could have come up with some homegrown talent for that.

/that Navy vet should know better than to salute during the anthem when wearing a suit.....
