(Daily Kos)   Daily Kos publishes no less than eight diaries urging the defeat of a Democrat in Virginia who (gasp) doesn't always vote the progressive way. After this same candidate is renominated yesterday...crickets   (dailykos.com) divider line 28

So you're pissed they haven't published something less than 12 hours later? Do I have that right? How epically stupid

So people stopped urging for defeat after this person won?

I think that's what normal people do.

2013-06-12 08:52:32 AM
And exactly 0 farks were given that day.

And?

Whoever greenlit this is trying too hard; this is the dumbest thing in the history of the politics tab.

Also, oh look:

The GOP has been trying to defeat Obama since 2007.

Besides the post from 5AM this morning you mean.

2013-06-12 09:38:31 AM
omg you mean people stop campaigning after the election!  Slackers! Everyone know that once an election is over you don't stop to allow for the government to function. You just keep up the hype so that no one loses ratings.

There's people who actually track this stuff?

Kos himself swore up and down that Bachmann would be the Rep nominee for pres.  He and his site have zero credibility.

And how do you feel about ever single GOP pundit that swore that Romney would be president?

I just want the Governor and Lt Governor race not to be won by Cooch & Company

Also, "Diaries" on Daily Kos are like Facebook pages...anybody can post one.  Unless they were in the front page feed, they don't come from the staff of Daily Kos, but just from random people.

In any case, Daily Kos is also officially partisan, in that it's not just a liberal blog but also a specifically pro-Democratic Party one.

They also backed that Turd that allowed Lieberman to be elected as an independent. It was before the current DKos iteration, where it was basically a "build your own blog" site; the articles were mostly by the "staff," if you could call it that. If you voiced any dissent about Turd (or, in other cases, about Howard Dean), you were banned. It was autocracy at its finest, and it destroyed what used to be a decent place to go for progressive news (to either laugh at or consume, depending on your perspective).

Now the site has devolved into this massive hivemind circlejerk. If your blog post doesn't match the hivemind, it never sees the light of day. It's become the Reddit of political sites, lacking quality and insight and deserving nothing but your scorn and ridicule.

That's defeatist talk.  If the repubs thought that way they wouldn't have been able to stop Obama's 4th and 5th terms!

So, you're saying it went from progressive Democrat to mainstream Democrat...

So did Jack Kimball not compare taxes to being raped? And did tea parties not cheer him when he said it?

Dem Candidate A - Seen as good
Dem Candidate B - Seen as bad
GOP Candidate - Seen as awful.

Dem A loses to Dem B. New situation is Bad vs. Awful. Support bad over awful.

How is this unusual?

This has to be the most news-less Fark post the mods have ever posted.

Have you met the Tea Party?

It's pretty obscure, even for a Virginia Democrat. A house of delegate race? Must be important.

Northern Virginia? Nope.
Roanoke? Nope.
Richmond? Nope.
Tidewater? Nope.

How the heck did a non-controversial race out in bumfark VA make it to greenlit?

I don't like the dailyKos.

Not for political reasons or any of that.

I just don't like their website.

I wish Fark hadn't changed its tagline from "It's not news, It's Fark.com" in situations like this.

Daily KOS reports on a Republican candidate comparing taxes, to rape to a cheering crowd of Teabaggers...and Daily KOS is the bad guy in this?  Help me out here, what am I missing?

92myrtle: To be fair to DKos, the challenger who lost is pretty hot.

I'd poll at her place.

What is subby's point here? If my guy lost, I wouldn't want to talk about it either.
