Unlikely tag on vacation?  This doesn't even sound remotely close to legit.  I've seen a few Star Wars spoilers in my day.

Twins named Solo?

2013-06-12 12:07:54 AM
No they won't. This bullshiat must have originated on Ain't it Cool News.

Jaina Solo - Female, 17 years old, lead. - Jacen's twin sister, one of the greatest Jedi's in the galaxy, trained by her uncle Luke Skywalker

Jacen Solo - Male, 17 years old, lead - Jaina's twin brother, one of the greatest Jedi's in the world. A loner who is constantly struggling with the idea of what's right and what's wrong. Starts to turn to the dark side. Full of conviction that what he is doing is the "right thing". Will eventually become Darth Caedus.

I think if this was a casting notice, they wouldn't have written it so stupidly.

I know I said in another thread that I don't care about Star Wars anymore, but if I did, I would be very upset at any attempt to legitimize Kevin J. Anderson in canon.  But I'm not.

Bleeding Cool or some other site has already reported this to be fake.

2013-06-12 12:31:32 AM
That's lame. If you're going to write a phoney casting notice, make something up yourself. Don't use characters from the books that they already said they were ignoring.

This wouldn't be the first time Flare Boy has teased out some fake bit that ends up being true...

I'm getting less and less interested (if possible) in this upcoming sequel as time goes on; by the time the thing is released, I'll want to see something else altogether.

Jaina? Jacen?

Maybe Jaden Smif can be one of the twins.

If they're ignoring ALL the books, they've already lost me.

Has to be played by Shia Labouef...

Watch, it ends up really being some Bith-on-Trandoshan fanfic on the big screen.

...

My imagination says 'no'.

2013-06-12 01:53:42 AM
No no, the actual report said Episode VII would feature Jaden and Jada Smith as protagonists. In order to maintain thematic consistency with the last three Star Wars films, the casting director was told to find actors with the same range and talent as Jake Lloyd and Hayden Christensen.

The villains will be played by Robert Patterson, Kristen Stewart, and David Hasslehoff (as Emperor Poutylips, apprentice Darth Scowl, and the new Death Star, respectively).

Sersleh. Might as well name them Dakota and Brayden.

That's it.  I am officially forgetting that any versions of Star Wars exist at all other than Episode IV.  I'd be ok remembering Episode V but then I'd never know whether they ever unfroze Han Solo.

I was actually at Paramount earlier today delivering CFL spotlights and word is that Will Smith is playing Han, Willow Smith is playing Jaina and of course Jaden Smith is playing Jacen Solo, except the character is actually called Jaden Solo.

I'm of a mind that at least half the things in Patton Oswalt's version are going to come to reality.

My prediction:  They will introduce a character for the new generation that makes Jar Jar look like the host from Masterpiece Theater.

KOTOR would be the best movie. Revan is the best Star Wars character.

2013-06-12 02:34:42 AM
I believe it. This is a perfect opportunity for Will Smith to shoehorn his kids into the role. And he'll probably cast himself as Mace Windu's kid and his gardener as Yoda's kid.

No, that would be Bastilla's boobs.

When are we going to get a Jar Jar Binks spinoff? Totally needs his own movie to develop the character a bit more.

Thrawn is too good of a villian not to use.  He's smart, he's scary, and he's probably the best character - let alone the best villian - to come out of the EU.

I don't care if they follow the Heir to the Empire trilogy closely, I just want to see Thrawn on the big screen.

He's a mix of Sun Zhu and Sherlock Holmes; notices every little detail, and almost always understands it.  Very formidable.  Also should be played by a Brit, as that's how Imperial accents from Coruscant have been played.  Benedict Cumerbach could do it, if he's not completely overexposed by now.

Thrawn will not appear in the next movie.  That's exactly what you'd expect him to do.

Funny, we all wanted to think that about Kahn in Into Darkness, and look how that turned out. Hell, they even rhyme.

Actually, isn't that based off of one of the books?  I haven't looked at it for a couple decades, but I think there were some books out based on that.

To be fair, it's easy to be one of the greatest jedi in the galaxy when there's like, 3 of them total between Luke and these two.

I don't know how the publishing rights would go on this if they were using Kevin J. Anderson's characters from the Jedi Search/Suncrusher series.

On one hand, I'm sure now that Disney owns the rights they probably retroactively own the rights to Kevin Anderson's vision and intellectual property rights of his portrayal to those characters.

It will be interesting to see which way they go with this. But go ahead and ask me anyway "How many Star Wars movies have ever been made?"

By the age of 17, I think the number of Jedi was up to a few dozen.  Which is still very few in a galaxy.

Har Har Binks?

God I hope not.  The reason I enjoyed much of the EU was because the Jedi weren't fighting Sith.  It was more focused on the republic as a whole vs the empire or other enemies (vong).

Turning Jacen into Caedus was the worst decision in the EU, because it simply rehashed the whole ultimate good vs ultimate evil storyline that has been done and done and done.  Characters like Thrawn and the Vong make good villians because they are more morally ambiguous.  They aren't necessarily "evil" but are doing what they do to benefit their own people.  You end up rooting for the heroes not because they are good, but because you were introduced to them first.

Said it before, will say it again.  I'd rather see movies based on the x-wing series than any other part of the EU, or any re-hash of a sith storyline.

What, another farking movie about Jedi? Jedi, Jedi, Jedi! Every movie, every TV series, and (almost) every video game and comic book. The Star Wars universe is vast; show us something new. I would totally watch a:

* A police procedural set on one of the shiatty--but not TOO shiatty--lower levels of Coruscant
* An outer-rim hardscrabble smuggling ship crew story (in the vein of Firefly, but less low-tech frontier/western motif elements)
* Hard political/organized crime (Black Sun, anyone?) drama (the sci-fi counterpart to Game of Thrones), as long as the trade disputes and racist accents are kept to a low roar
* Mock reality-tv show about hunters who wrangle gundarks (whatever the hell they are)
* A show focusing on the Wookiee civil-rights struggle during the pre-ANH period
* A hardboiled mercenary actioner; Dash Rendar meets Pitch Black
* A series about rank-and-file starfighter pilots (Old Republic, Empire, Rebellion, New Republic, whatever), similar to how the first couple X-Wing novels were handled, with a touch of the reimagined Battlestar Galactica ensemble approach

Basically, anything (maybe even distant, DISTANT past or far future) that can get us away from lightsabers and characters turning to the dark side.

2013-06-12 04:13:22 AM
Corran Horn and the X-Wing series would be a nice TV series, if they could afford to make it.

You've got to admit that a twin incest plot line might make you pony up a ten spot and change for the matinee.

I'm not going to bother with them, but I really doubt anything could be that bad

I would like to think that whoever writes these would understand apostrophe use.

Also, that when the whole galaxy is the setting "in the world" doesn't carry a lot of weight.

There are more dicks in this thread than a bukakki video. You don't need to go out of way to go to a Star Wars thread to inform everyone that you don't care about Star Wars. No one's taking notes.
