keylock71: Looks nice, but it's mostly 10 minute itch, poison ivy and pricker bushes.

I believe in some places, you can get fined for having poison ivy and its relatives on your property.

Not here, apparently... The base of that entire hill is pretty much poison ivy. Knee level is 10 minute itch. The pricker bushes grow up into the trees and droop down. Got a few wood chucks, possums and skunks in there too. Not to mention a mostly feral cat who lives in my shed (we captured him and had him fixed a few years back). We keep the cat fed by keeping the bird feeders stocked with corn and song-bird seed, which attracts not only birds but squirrels, as well.

It's my own little eco-system right in the middle of an old depressed mill town. : )

encephlavator: lewismarktwo: If you stop to think about it for even a second purposely growing and cutting grass has got to be one of the most absurd things human beings do.

No, no it is not. Grass looks good. Unkempt lawns do not. Unmown lawns become a huge fire risk in dry spells. They tend to harbor vermin too. Unkempt lawns can be a home for noxious weeds as well which cause millions if not billions a year in economic damage.

You are so entrenched in your way of thinking that you can't even imagine not having a lawn.
