(Yahoo)   House Speaker John Boehner finds it to be 'inconceivable' that President Obama was unaware of the IRS targeting certain conservative groups. It appears that Boehner truly has a dizzying intellect   (gma.yahoo.com) divider line 37

That'll sure help immigration reform pass.

They deserved to be targeted b/c they are not goddamned social welfare groups. They are political groups and never should have been given the tax exemptions.

so this frees up time for Boner to draft some legislation to scale back the NSA?

Technically since the IRS office that did this was in Boehner's state shouldn't he have been aware of it?

They didn't "target" them. The did scrutinize them more closely. On orders from a conservative Republican......

Out of almost 200 applications that got the extra scrutiny, only 9 were denied.

It's a dirty secret but for a Republican to get on The Daily Show, he or she must first hire a second string writer from the show's stable.

The object is outrageous yet newsworthy sound bites that border on the insane, uncivil, and have that "can't turn away from a train wreck" quality.

Boehner's looking for a booking in late August when his orange tan will be most different from a real sun tan.

You mean like how you were unaware of how Issa helped cut funding to US embassies so that Benghazi can happen, right John?

John who? Is he still "running" things up there on the Hill? Really?

You mean how the IRS "targeted" legally non-political groups for their legally non-existent politics?

2013-06-11 01:36:38 PM
Absolutely inconceivable. Clearly what IRS do is always at the top of the agenda for the person elected to manage the most powerful country in the world.

Boehner:
You've beaten our Romney, which means you're exceptionally well-funded,
so you could've told the IRS to look into your own party,
trusting on your accountants to save you, so I can
clearly not choose the ledger in front of you. But,
you've also bested my Palin which means you must
have studied, and in studying you must have learned
that women are Rogues, so you would have pointed the IRS
as far from yourself as possible, so I can clearly
not choose the ledger in front of me.

Obama:
You've guessed wrong.

Boehner:
You only think I guessed wrong! That's what's so
funny! I switched ledgers when your back was turned!
Ha ha! You fool! You fell victim to one of the
classic blunders! The most famous is never get
involved in a land war in Asia unless they have oil, but only slightly
less well-known is this: never go in against a
Republican when dirty money is on the line!! Ha ha ha ha ha
ha ha!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!! Ha ha ha-- thump.

Funny,

I find it to be 'inconcievable' that Boehner is still Speaker of the House after the crap job he did at it in years past.

So Boehner doesn't delegate? No wonder he cries all the time. I mean managing a single congressional office is nowhere near as complex as managing the entire executive branch, but its still got to be pretty stressful if he refuses to delegate any responsibility to his staff. Poor guy.

Because lib groups don't pretend to do the same exact thing.
Fark Libs are a great example of the people's unending ability to bullshiat their way out of any situation.
Well done.

The whole plan was conceived and executed by Republicans working in the IRS.  Why would they tell Obama anything about it?

I don't get it, they're herping and derping against Obama because of the IRS and Benghazi non-troversies but are mum on the actual NSA thing.

Targeting by keyword in 2009 and 2010 would either disproportionately target Tea Party groups or disproportionately ignore Tea Party groups. This is because the "Tea Party" was a widespread and popular movement that had enough funding to organize into groups which, in turn, would seek the most advantageous tax status; and no comparable keyword or set of keywords existed on the liberal side ("Occupy" was never organized or funded enough to have any use for 501(c)(whatever), never mind c4 specifically).

If the Occupy movement had organized as 501(c)(4) on a large scale, there is no doubt in my mind that the IRS would have been as equally likely to target them by keyword, when faced with a deluge of applications with "Occupy" in the name. If the Occupy movement never faced a similar level of scrutiny by the IRS, it was only because they never had anything to scrutinize.

It must bother you when people are right.  POS Obama and POS Jarrett both say, "Punish our enemies, reward our friends."  They knew.  He is the most unpresidential president we will ever have.

So it's "inconceivable" that a conservative republican at the IRS identified a pattern of fraud amongst groups using those keywords, and instituted stronger anti-fraud measures based on that pattern to weed out groups misfiling as social welfare groups instead of political action committees? I agree, Obama should have been more suspicious that the conservative republican was going to do something to draw the ire of the idiots in congress who stand for nothing at all.

FloridaWombat:

You didnt just link a story to the most liberal of all left-leaning sites did you?
Yes you did.

Your smugness is only trumped by your ignorance. Thanks for the unintended humor provided from your post, authored down there in Florida. Lois Lerner had already apologized for knowingly targeting conservative groups. Ohio IRS officials conceded they purposely targeted specific groups who had tea-party affiliations and their questions bordered on interrogation.
But thanks for playing.

2013-06-13 12:08:44 AM
And targeted liberal groups (here's a *real* libby lib site for you) (and a drive by MSM site as well)... thanks for playing as well kind sir.  Thank you for the ad hominem as well.  The IRS interrogating people who claim tax exempt status?  Color me shocked.  Jackwagons who think that paying taxes are *EVIL* got the stink eye from the tax collectors?  Really?  No one likes the tax man, but I find it hilarious that the people screaming about the inefficiency of government really get their panties in a wad when a part of it actually practices due diligence.

P.S.- Did the marching orders come from the White House?  No... but don't let that get in the way of the outrage.  Bless your heart.
