ok, first off you should never scoff at a tornado. However the first reaction of any native Okie when they hear the siren go off is to go outside and see where the tornado is at. I'm not saying this is a smart answer or a correct one. It's just what we do. We go outside, look for the tornado, catch up on the local news this may look like we are scoffing at the tornado.

ok ok ok we scoff at tornadoes, but we also find cow tipping entertaining.

I equate it to people on the coast and sharks, yeah you know there are sharks out there and yes they kill people buy you still go in the water. dont ya?

This is true, if it's not going to be within a mile of you, you might not even hit the cellar.

That was almost as devastating as our earthquake a little while back.  Don't worry though.  We WILL rebuild.

Yep...When the April 13th, 2012 tornado that hit Norman, I came home to find my wife on the front porch watching the storm...while the tornado was three blocks away.  And she usually freaks during storms.

OOOh....so that's what our relatives were texting about when they said there was a tornado coming towards us.   No idea that was happening... (we're about 4 miles from where that video was shot).

Some good lightning though.

Headline could be a Jimmy Fallon monologue, almost word-for-word.

"A tornado hit Virginia yesterday. That's right Virginia, pretty scary stuff. Or as Oklahomans call it... meh, it's just a bit windy."

I didn't mind Fallon until I realized 90% of his "jokes" followed the exact same format: "Today in the news blah blah happened... or as such-and-such calls it, bloop bloop blah."
