The real question is can Hamilton manage to have a complete race. Should be a good one.

2013-06-09 01:18:45 PM
Heh...I saw during qualifying yesterday BOT was third. I figured that must have been a  typo and was supposed to be BUT and was happy cause i like Jensen. Just saw that its really Bottas.

Currently sunny and humid in Montreal, but there's still a risk of showers, for the next hour or so. Turns 1 and 2 on a wet track at the start will be fun to watch.

As usual, Wil positions himself to get a hot grid girl on camera

I was down and out that there was no hockey today, then I remembered F1 was on.

As is well again.

On the BBC its Sterling Moss and Hamilton talking about Moss's Mercedes. Watching Lewis being in awe of Moss and Moss's expresion when he held the current Mercs steering wheel. Very good little bit of TV.

Is it me or is Hamilton much less of a dick now he is at Merc?

2013-06-09 01:41:06 PM
AND it's on the real NBC!

Hopefully without a giant fark-off banner at the top of the screen.

2013-06-09 01:41:17 PM
It's not just you. Hamilton seems much less a douchebag this year

It was a great bit.

/Never thought of Hamilton as a dick

Much less of a dick, but much less success too.

Farkin' Bernie.

That might have been the most absurd performance of a national anthem I've ever seen.

Bernie is corrupt as all shiat, but he's done a lot for the sport over the last few years.  And his corruption is far more fair and even-handed than that of Jean Todt or Max Mosely.

This 'tribunal' over Merc's testing is the height of utter bullshiat, considering Ferrari broke the exact same rule and got it hand-waived.

Are 1 and 2 really that wet? This start should be good.

And the teams that brought the complaint were present *during* the testing... and didn't object. Then.

Ferrari used a 2011 car

Man this grid is all shook up. This start should be interesting and first couple of laps should be interesting.

GRCooper: Ferrari used a 2011 car

Yes, yes they did. And everybody who witnessed the Mercedes test this year knew that a current-year car was doing the testing, *including* Ferrari. And raised no protests or objections beforehand, or during, the testing. It wasn't until Mercedes actually got some benefit for it that the protest was lodged.

No. It hasn't rained since last night. I only said there was a risk of shower until 2pm.

Behind the scenes, RBR is rumored to throw a lot of money at FIA officials.

/Don't forget the FIA officially sees RBR as a vital foundational pillar of F1 on the same level as Ferrari.
//Merc is considered of the same level as Catarham.

Ferrari also used their Corse Clienti crew, and the tire testing was for GP2, not F1.

They should allow DRS whenever you want.

Which would win in a race? A Williams F1 car, or Frank Williams?

Considering the way Red Bull has pissed over the rules for the last few years they should just STFU. The worst is the way the budget cap has been bent to allow them to spend more than other teams.

Oh man, do they have helmet cams now? It looked like a helmet cam view on Bottas.

Wow...

2013-06-09 02:11:01 PM
Well that was fun.

2013-06-09 02:11:09 PM
Wow, there's a lot of drivers that will be penalized for going off track.

2013-06-09 02:11:40 PM
Jesus Christ guys. I know Bottas is in a hopeless car, but you could at least show some respect.

2013-06-09 02:11:41 PM
Getting chippy between Sutil and Maldonado now?

We don't have weather, but that doesn't mean we can't make it rain!

2013-06-09 02:12:12 PM
That was some sick driving by all involved around Sutil's spin.

2013-06-09 02:12:49 PM
This race is 7 laps old and already more exciting than the Giant Banner of Pocono.

Yup, I've seen it a few times before. Fun shot.
