I have never liked the plucked eyebrow look. To me the girls that did the real thin eyebrow look always looked like they had cut this guy's mustache in half and glued a piece above each eye.

And it always looked stupid. I like a girl with nice natural eyebrows.

So, that was a big ad for eyebrow transplant surgeons? If it's a transplant from your head, does that mean you can just let the hairs grow and have foot long eye brows?

In middle school, the secretary drew her eyebrows on every day. One looked like an arced sperm, the other like an inverted check mark. The dimensions and location varied slightly from day to day, but they were always the same farked up shapes. It was endlessly fascinating to my 13 year old self, who had bushy Brooke Shields caterpillar brows. I have pretty nice, thick yet perfectly groomed and arched ones now. No Sharpie in sight, yet I am half Mexican. I never felt the need to rip most of them out by the roots.

Yeah, I wonder about that one too.  In my increasing age my brows have gotten thick as fark.  I pluck random really thick, off-color, old man hairs out of them all the time.  It hasn't slowed them down a bit.  Much like my ear and nose hair.  If I don't trim that shiat every two or three days it gets out of hand.

Maybe they weren't used to shaving with a straight razor and used too much pressure?

I have much the same problem, sometimes I wind up pulling out a brow hair from the middle of my eyelid! WTF! Also, with increasing age my eyes are not what they used to be, I can't see the individual hairs to trim or pluck without my glasses, with my glasses on I can't reach them.

A former model had a makeup line she sold on QVC or whatever. During the 'show' she went from makeup-free to full-on-fashion-model-mask. She had absolutely no eyebrows from shaving in the early days of her career. It was fascinating to watch her transform from a eyebrow-less freak to a very attractive older woman.

I was traveling in Central America last year and some high school kids from Texas were talking about how they go to the mall to get their eyebrows done. These were guys.

Do lots of American high school males get their eyebrows done at the mall?

A bout 10ish years ago I had a bit of an accident when I was playing with fire and it basically burned off my eyebrows, eyelashes, mustache, and part of my hairline. Everything else grew back in short order but it took months for my eyebrows to grow back properly.

Yes.

My eyebrows are normal, except that in the one over my left eye a single hair grows at 5x normal speed, and doesn't stop growing at normal eyebrow hair length. This means, every few months I find a hair that is almost as long as my whole eyebrow. pluck and repeat. I hope this isn't a sign of more to come

I knew a large "good ole boy" Texan that loved to get manicures.

And he'd crush your skull if you laughed.

I'm very, very conservative about plucking precisely because of this.  Men's brows seem to grow thicker and long as they age; for us women, the hairs seem to get finer and more rare, which can lead to very sparse brows in middle age.

When I pluck---which isn't that often, really---I ask myself: would I be okay if this particular hair never grew back?

Hey ladies. Dudes don't give a shiat about your eyebrows. Like, at most 5% of you have eyebrows that are farked up and need to be dealt with. The rest of you are fine. Same goes for your nails. They're fine. Stop wasting time with that.

You realize many (most?) women don't dress or groom with the goal of attracting men, right?   Sometimes we dress or groom a certain way because we like it (irrespective of how men might feel about it).  Sometimes it's to subscribe to a trend in the female community; being "trendy" is more about social acceptance among other women than it is about getting men.  Other times, we dress and groom as a competition with other women.

For example, many women love to be the skinniest woman around (e.g., at work, in a clique, at a bar), even if being that skinny is a turn-off for most men, because it means there's one way she's better than other women.  It has nothing to do with men.

My sister has a condition that she is a manic eyebrow plucker, it has a name.  They stopped growing back for decades.  She went to see a psychiatrist who had dealt with it before, and now she has eyebrows again.  They are thin, and she builds them up with cosmetics, but it is an interesting thing.

I have always liked women with fuller eyebrows, myself.

shaving eyebrows != plucking != burning them off

I could ignore the stupid eyebrows but then many of these chickas insist on pressuring all their girlfriends and female relatives to join their cult, or even  nag their boyfriends into letting them pluck their brows.  biatiches be crazy yo'
