I remember seeing that ad play during the commercial breaks when I was watching Radio 1990 back in '84. But they didn't get me to drink coffee.

But did they sit around the house and watch Leave It To Beaver?

Actually, watching the commercial posted, that would have been Heart mixing one of their craptastic 80s albums. Obviously, coffee went to their brains and farked them up good.

The other interesting thing about that video is how boring and staid the camera work and editing was, even though it was supposed to have a dynamic feel. Technology has changed our lives in so many ways.

I don't think I saw Bowie in that commercial.  Did I miss something?

"You are the New American Society."

The early Eighties are really weirdly Orwellian with all this 'new generation' shiat flying around. Creepy.

Yeah, what was it with that hook every company was using?

I mean every new generation is a... well... new generation.  The 80s really seemed to push that idea a lot, though.

Coffee gives you the time to dream it, then you're ready to DO IT!

In bed.

// Then you poop.

It always amused me that as Ann Wilson got fat, they stopped filming her from the shoulders down.  Nancy has to carry that entire video.

Another famous Wilson (no relation to the Heart sisters), Carnie, was relegated to the same fate when Wilson Phillips started making videos.

Mister Peejay: But did they sit around the house and watch Leave It To Beaver?

The future was up to them.

Thanks a lot, them.
