And if the Hawks finish the Kings tonight the Cup Final starts Wed. otherwise we get games Monday maybe Wednesday and the final round won't start until Saturday...

What a series for the Bruins...

They just completely shut down some very talented players. Crosby - No points. Malkin - No points. etc. etc.

I'm really hoping for a Bruins-Blackhawks Final. An Original Six Match Up, and the irst time they would have ever met in Stanley Cup Final, as well.

Also, the Owen 3, Owen 4 thing is kind of lame in my opinion, but I do like the "Sidney Crosby Hat Trick" No goals. No Assists. No points. : )

Hockey is so weird. Last year Bruins lead a playoff series 3-0 but then lose four games in a row and the series. This year, the Penguins are the best and most talented team left in the playoffs. Not only are they shut down, but they are swept by the underdog Bruins. The star Penguin players don't even score.

That was 2010... Against Philly.

Then they swept Philly in 2011 on their way to winning the Cup.

They did almost blow the series against Toronto this year, though... Almost. : )

Indeed. Very talented team. I always feel bad when the losing team gets bombarded with questions after a sweep or a choke job...

Seems like every question can be answered simply: "shiat happens".

Maybe no wins? One dive? Since, if he has no goals obviously no points) Or no class. Depends on the person.

I said it here at the begining of the playoffs when the Pens were playing the Sens... It's not a good sign to have a goalie issue going into the playoffs.

It is, but I think the bigger problem for Pittsburgh was their top skaters completely failing to score. What was it 3 goals in 4 games or something like that? From a team that was averaging 4 goals a game? No way you win in the Playoffs like that. I don't think you can hang that series loss on Vokoun/Fleury. The Penguins offense just couldn't get it done against the layers of Bruins' defense... And when they did get by them, Tuukka was their to slam the door in their faces.

Agreed. Flyers had issues last year and it finally caught up to them. At least they beat the Pens first ;)

It happens, and the team that played the best won the series. No tears here, because it was still a fun ride. Just excited to see what the offseason will bring.

It's common for the members of many fan-bases to personally identify with their home team and use pronouns such as 'we' and 'us' when discussing them.  This despite them not being possessed of the delusion that they are in fact members of said team or have any meaningful impact on their performance.

There was an informal "survey" of NHL players about who was the most over-rated player in the league. Rumour is that Phaneuf won in a landslide.

However, for me it's Malkin. As gifted as he is in the offensive zone, he's even more of a liability in the defensive zone.

What's that Peter Sellers role? The one where he says "I like to watch"?

Hell, it's even worse because in hockey, the champions tend to bring the Cup around with them. So lucky fans may, indeed, get a chance to hoist it once more...

It wasn't the goal tending that cost them, other than game 2.  In games 1,3 and 4, Vokoun allowed 6 goals in about 3 1/2 games (1.7 GAA).  That's about where he was against the Islanders (1.5 GAA) and better than he was against the Sens (2 GAA).  Vokoun did what he needed to do.  The issue was the no one else did.  2 goals across 4 games was the issue.

Dunno 'bout that, seems to me that the 'best and most talented team' would have found a way to score more than *two* goals in a 4 game series. Or would have gotten even a single point from its so-called superstars. Or would have held a lead at some point at least once. Or, for that matter, would have won at least one game. It doesn't matter how 'talented' you may be, no team that can collapse *that* epically can be called 'best'.

And bwahahaha @ "Sidney Crosby hat trick". Perhaps it can be one cheapshot, one dive, one loss?
