Everything I've heard about Chevy makes it sound like he's a nightmare to work with. Good thing he's funny.

2013-06-07 12:13:21 PM
I absolutely love HTTM but I don't have high hopes for a sequel.

2013-06-07 12:14:29 PM
Why do people keep hiring this man?   He hasn't made anyone laugh in 20 years, and he's a nightmare to work with.

I can't look at the word jacuzzi without seeing jizz hiding in it.
Same goes for actual jacuzzis.

I'm hoping Crispen Glover will have a "Terminatoresque" arm in the future

2013-06-07 12:21:34 PM
Maybe he drowns in the first five minutes

Against all expectations, I really liked that movie. It was surprisingly funny.

Studios should make it mandatory that anyone who works personally with Chase has to punch him in the face before speaking to him.

2013-06-07 12:25:13 PM
I know it'll never happen, but I hope against hope that they drive a dumptruck of money up to Chevy's door to come back to Community. Yeah, I know he and Harmon hate each other, but dammit, Pierce is one of my all time favorite television characters.

Why are they making a second one? Why did they make a FIRST one? Who the hell even came up with this concept in the first place? Why? How? Was this some failed last-SNL-skit-of-the-night that inexplicably got the ear of a Hollywood producer? Is there blackmail involved? Who? What? What was done to that poor Shetland pony? And why is Chevy Chase still a thing and not just sitting around waiting to die?

"Branding."

His name is a recognized, marketable commodity and greed has no memory.

This time with the British techno version of "Zou Bisou Bisou".

I will say this much about the first one. Whatever else, it has a Jessica Paré nude scene. That redeems much.

Yes.  It was far better than my low expectations had set me up for.

I too liked the first one.

Further proving if the internet were an actual person they would hate hanging out with me.

The first one was hilarious.

Never saw first one, but like the talent involved, the fact that someone would make it, and the idea that they could do it with a straight face.  I just assumed that the trailer (which I enjoyed) was essentially the whole movie. Will put it on the list...

2013-06-07 01:06:52 PM
I liked that movie too.  I thought I would be embarrassed to say, but I don't care.  I'll see the second one too.

Great White Buffalo.

2013-06-07 01:49:08 PM
the movie was hilarious, and it was a much funnier movie than the more popular "The Hangover" which appeared around the same time.  The Hangover series just takes itself too damn seriously.  I mean come on - how can you NOT like a movie about some friends that are trying to have an intervention for their self destructive friend and then end up accidentally going back in time to the 80's because of an illegal Russian energy drink?  The concept is ridiculous, but the movie is just almost non-stop laughs.

/altho like ALL modern movies that choose the 80's for a setting, the hair is ALL farkING WRONG.

Maybe we should check Loogle to see if this is true.

I did like the movie too. I went against my will. But I did honestly laugh.

Gonna have to agree with the folks saying it was funnier than expected. I went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised, and Miss Pare's tits were superb!

/still wondering how Lou became the lead singer for Motley Crue when the band was around already.

Joining the thought it would be lame, but loved it crew. Saw it on a plane trip to england in 2010. Also saw Grownups on the same flight. HTTM was better, and I actually LIKE sandler.

yeah it was one part that made no real sense in the context of the film and was just done for the "Motley Lou" joke.  He would have been better off stealing songs that no one in the 80's had heard yet and creating his own super band with them, since you just know his head is full of every metal song released.

That would have made much more sense. Still, it would have been for them to try and get a different cast for the sequel, everyone ended up with a better life so what the hell is this one going to be about?

Harmon wasn't the only one who had a problem with Chevy.

I would love another Vacation sequel.  If Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo signed up, I'd stand in line.  And if they could get Randy Quaid, I'd stand in line all night!  Seriously.

They're doing another Vacation sequel, with Ed Helms as Rusty Griswold. Chase and D'Angelo are said to have supporting roles.

Yeah, exactly.

/at least there's an easy way to deal with the 9/11 problem in the sequel - Lou was busy getting wasted and being a rich rock star in the 80s and 90s and is an idiot besides, he just forgot to warn anyone

Lump me in with the "unexpectedly loved the movie" crowd. Rob Corddrey stole the show, but the loser kid really holds the film together.

You appear to have misspelled 'Motley Lou'.

Also, I don't have high hopes for this even though I agree about it being significantly better than I expected.  My only hope is that everything, and I mean everything goes wrong for them and they have to go back and set the time stream right in some sort of Back To the Future meets Bill and Ted sort of sequel.

Rob Corddry is hilarious in HTTM. Everyone was good in it, but he stood out.

This movie falls into the same category as Dude Where's My Car does. Went into it not expecting much and was blown away by the cleverness of most of it. Granted, they're not genius, by any means, but they were better than they deserved to be. Too bad Cusack won't be in the sequel.

I watched the first three seasons of Community in a two week period, and I can see why Chase hated the character.  He's an Archie Bunker archetype but watered down for modern audiences and he really doesn't have much to do.  He just shows up to make a racist/homophobic/sexist joke and then disappears until the money his character has is needed to make an ABC special of the week contribution to one of the other characters.

It certainly doesn't help that Chase hasn't managed to develop any acting skills over the years at all.  Even Dan Aykroyd can manage to act sad without sounding sarcastic.  Chase's range is so limited if you aren't "in" on his own in-joke, then he's just off-putting.

It also doesn't help that the man is a royal asshole.  Like Paltrow, he was born on third, thinks he hit a triple, but he has just that extra asshole about him that he thinks you should respect him for it.  He's not just clueless about it, he thinks he should be rewarded for it.

It was a line from the movie.  Chase frequently refers to Duke as "young lady".  (shrug)

Cusak was replaced by that guy from Parks and Rec/ Party Down with the freaky looking head. I don't like that development.
