Fiction Fan:
Not really a spoiler, but here's what "we", "we" being the crowd watching from the side and from across the street, saw:

- The group pulls into a deserted parking lot
- They find a series of military tents surrounded by fencing
- They enter the area of the tents through a hole in the fence and examine one of the tents
- They go up to the entrance of the store, which is only accessible through the hole cut in the fence that the group originally entered
-  They toss a tennis ball into the store to distract walkers
- They enter the store

So the show is stealing gameplay from DayZ the zombie mod for ArmA II?

I really hope they go with the herd concept rather than any of the cheap "oh, they can use weapons now!" crap.  Their bodies are slowly decomposing, so their brain function should lessen over time (theoretically). Having them start to pick up sticks and what not just doesnt make sense.

However, the concept of herds explained in the comics, where a zombie hears something and begins walking in that direction.  Other zombies see that zombie heading somewhere, and follow, This chain reactions into thousands of them all walking across the countryside. As they walk, one walker may brush up against a door handle. This makes another walker think he was attempting to access the door, and he starts hitting the door. This in tun attracts more zombies and before long, the walkers are tearing the house down, and only because one happened to brush his hand on the door.

If you've played the Telltale game, I'm talking a herd like what moved through Savannah. Too ense to just go in and carefully clear out, like the walkers so far at the prison. I'm talking a shoulder to shoulder mob of  walkers, several thousand strong, just moving through the countrside like a tornado, tearing down anything it comes across.

That's how you make the zombies scary again.

To make the zombies scary all they have to is make them a threat again!

Season one got it right, you couldn't go outside and it was a constant fear.

Season 2 and 3 they'll camping in the woods, strolling back and forth to Woodbury.  The zombies were an after-thought.

The whole Woodbury storyline was stupid.  And I don't mean it should zombie fights for an hour.  It SHOULD be a character driven show in a zombie world.  But Woodbury was stupid.

Ways in which Season four could be made scarier:
(1) they find a whole army of zombie babies ("Aww, you're so cute, choochie coo..." *CHOMP*)
(2) "Keeping Up With The Zombasians"
(3) Instead of zombies with sharks on their back, why not zombie sharks?
(4) they find Dick Cheney, who then gets bitten.  As he turns, he becomes increasingly good-natured.
(5) Season 4's theme song will be "Zombie" by the Cranberries.
(6) Chuck Norris guests as "Texas Ranger, Walker"

Yeah, they pretty much covered this at the end of season 2. How the herd started out small, was distracted by the helicopter overhead, gradually increased in numbers, then completely tore down Hershel's farm.

TV's Vinnie: And just how are they going to make the zombies "even more terrifying"? All they have been up to date have been cannibalistic retards.

Show us a zombie that "came back" with his mental faculties still intact, but still has an insatiable hunger. Now THAT would be scary.

CURRENTLY ON THE WALKING DEAD

Rick and crew are hanging out at a settlement called "The Kingdom" run by a man named Ezekiel, who has a tiger.  Ezekiel's group is going to band together with Rick's group and another possible group to take on the current bad guys, the "Saviors", who are run by a sadistic fark name Negan.  Also, Rick is banging Andrea, Carl is missing an eye, and it looks like Michonne and Ezekiel are going to hook up.

Next issue should be a blockbuster - pick it up.

The series was lagging there for awhile until Negan showed up, it needed that dash of crazy. Negan is the kind of character I would expect in an apocalypse.

The conflict is between the two leaders fighting a new enemy: these old, sick and very young. Where the father sees them as more crushing responsibility the son sees them as nothing more than potential food.

Carl has evolved into a survivor. Ninja woman as well. Glen and Maggie are not far behind. Everyone else in the core group are not equipped for this world emotionally and have only made it this far due to remarkable skills and a great deal of luck.

Where last season was all Christ imagery I expect next season it's Darwin's turn. We will see evolution taking it's course. And the fate of those people on the bus will determine the way things go for our merry band.
