Welcome to Farktography!

This Week's Theme: "Square^2"

Description
: Give us your images in a 1:1 (square) aspect ratio. You can use images shot in square aspect ratio or crop to achieve it. No difficulties, looking for wide-open themeage.

We ask that before submitting your photos you read and adhere to the following submission rules, including but not limited to the following:
- Submissions must be photographs; screen captures do not count as photographs.
- You must be the original photographer of your entry. Do not submit anyone else's photography as your own.
- You are only allowed to enter a photograph once. Do not submit the same photo to another contest later.
- You may enter 3 photos in each contest as long as each photo is of a different composition.
- Please post each photo separately so they can be voted for individually.

Please note:
The overarching ideal behind Farktography is that image corrections are acceptable, while adding or removing elements in the image (e.g. removing telephone poles, adding Elvis) is not acceptable. HDR, stitching, or otherwise combining exposures in post processing are not allowed unless specified for a particular theme (multiple exposures done in-camera are acceptable, however). See the rules for more information on acceptable modifications, or check in at the Farktography Forums.

Legal: All photographers submitting photos to this contest are the legal copyright holders for the photos submitted and the photos are not to be considered free for any other use without written consent from the submitting photographers.
- Drop by the Farktography Forum on Fark (new window) or Farktography.net (for chatting, critique, techtalk and so on)
- Stats can be found here.

I'd recommend cropping it just to be safe.  Some people take the weekly contest guidelines literally so it might bother some of the other participants.  That's just my opinion though, so feel free to ignore it.  I'm just another person submitting photos.  Nobody has been foolish enough to give me any responsibility for things that happen on this website. :)

Yes, please recrop and repost both of your entries.  700x580 and 700x671 isn't close enough to square to call it square.  If it were a pixel or three off  in one dimension it would be fine, but both of your entries were too far off to call them 1:1.

You can delete images off a hard drive? :O

//man, I could save a whole lotta drive space if I adapted that paradigm!!

(side note, MaudlinMutantMollusk, would be better if you cropped your lovely dandelion to square also. I think the whole point of this theme is 1:1 aspect ratio, if I'm not mistaken).

FYI folks: 1:1 and square crop means the image should have the same pixel height as pixel width.  You can be off by a few pixels (less than 5) in either direction, but please make sure your images are the same pixel dimensions in each direction, thanks!
