Hello!

2013-06-05 11:57:16 PM
It's farking up my vacation (not really).
Went out for a fishing trip today & it was rainy & choppy. Kids got sick. Dinner was awesome with the few we caught.

Surf fishing hasn't been worth a damn. :(

/Ft Myers Beach

jehovahs witness protection: My ex-wife's name is Sandy.
I texted a storm pic to her and said "LOOK, it's almost as big as you"
It didn't help our already troubled situation.

Damn, and I thought I screwed up when I called a woman Chris. Like the governor.

So far, it's going to rattle around the empty, loose beer cans on the side yard of the house. The wind chimes on the patio will be awesome, though!

This isn't enough to get Jim Cantore out of bed. Try back next month.

Debby7813: Right in the path of both Frances AND Jeanne. How often does one little area get TWO hurricanes in three weeks?

///Port St.Lucie checking in.

I remember we were under a hurricane watch/warning 3 weekends in a row. Had to be on the weekend!

/Stayed during the week in Ft. Myers
//Most weekends in St. Pete

DarthBart: Charley was our first hurricane, living in Cape Coral.   We were shiatting big green bricks watching the radar and seeing that the eye was tracking straight at us.  Then it did that little jog to the left and hit Punta Gorda instead.  3 days without power in the Florida humidity.  That sucked.  Only thing that made it livable was me hotwiring a car battery onto an UPS and using that to power a box fan at night so we could sleep.

And Cape Coral got slammed. Ft. Myers Beach, Sanibel & Captiva, Cape Coral... they got it pretty bad. I lived in Ft. Myers off Metro and Daniels and I lost power, but that was about it. When Wilma came through it was awesome because a cold front came in right behind it. No power, but no humidity. That's how the weather after a hurricane should be.

/And by cold front I mean it dropped into the 60s

If it hadn't been so damn humid, it would have been great for dragging my telescope out.  No city glow, no streetlights, no nothing.

We actually suffered absolutely no damage.  The only thing that happened was the lid for our water softener brine tank blew off, but we found it across the street.  Not even a loose shingle and the winds blew the trees over into the canal rather than into the roof.  Other houses around weren't so lucky.  Trees through roofs, laying on top of cars, roofs stripped down to tar paper.

I suspect a good portion of the damage was caused by embedded tornados.

Paris1127: Spanky McStupid: We went through one season where we had to resort to the Greek alphabet so ... meh.

Which is not a bright idea. Think about it: if Category 5 Hurricane Beta kills thousands of people, can the name be retired? If it's retired, what should it be replaced with?

Hurricane VHS.

He said on twitter he was going to Sochi, Russia.  So Florida is just going to get wet besides the few tornados this has and will spawn.

rosy621: Spanky McStupid: We went through one season where we had to resort to the Greek alphabet so ... meh.

As we got toward the end of that season, my husband and I started wondering what happens when they reach the end of the alphabet. Never really cared to know, but unfortunately, that knowledge is ingrained in me.

2004 was fun in Florida. Lucky me got to spend time with Charley.

/And Andrea sounds just like Andrew. Another one I have fun with.
//I live in NC now. Woo hoo!

Did anyone notice that this is the same low pressure that used to be Hurricane Barbara that hit southern Mexico last week from the Pacific?

Well I learned not to leave the living room window open next to all my computer stuff anyway.

I've been told this is my fault, since I just recently moved to Jacksonville, and this is projected to run across us.  I told them that if they blamed me, then I'd just have to direct a bunch more this way.  Now, we'll see if random chance can convince the wife's family that I'm a wizard.

What part of West Virginia is your wife's family from?
