America never gave two shiats about Oasis, whatever they were.
Why the UK is still concerned is beyond me.

Nostalgia for an Age that Never Existed

Why can't all the bands reform
Stick to playing their old songs
It ain't punk
If it ain't just like the old days

That was then, this is now
Suckling up to the sacred cow
Can leave you stuck in the mud
With it's remains

Nostalgia for an age that never existed
Nostalgia for an age that never existed

/not an exact fit but it works

They actually have some ok songs... didn't mind listening to them now and then at the time... then I saw them interviewed. From that point on, any time I heard their music, I just couldn't forget about what douchebags the brothers are. Hearing them speak ruined their music for me.

well, noel wrote the songs and is mega-wealthy. liam needs tour and merch money to survive. it's pretty simple, really.

Seems to me subby is suggesting that Liam Gallagher is suffering from a giardia infection.

Which one has the prettier voice? I saw a video of one of them doing a live solo acoustic song that was very nice and I need help narrowing it down.

I never really got that from Noel. Just Liam.

Noel probably could have done so much better had he not bothered to pair up with his farkup brother. He's making some great music with The High Flying Birds now:

That would most definitely be Noel.

But DM has Live Forever and Slide Away... decisions. Also, it's not really up to Liam seeing as the one with all the talent walked out on him.

The douchebaggery is entirely on Liam. Noel's a pretty mellow, nice guy.

Thanks, Cheese Whiz Kid. I still haven't found what I'm looking for, but I'm seeing a lot of good stuff. It seems like he did an entire song in effortless falsettso. I wish I remembered which one.

Never understood their appeal. They're not that talented. They sound like similar "artists" of the same genre. Also, don't ever compare yourselves to The Beatles. The Beatles you are not.

good for your for being even more polite. I thought that whole thing came from a SNL skit. hated Oasis then, still hate them now. biggest dooshbag brothers ever, forever misbehaving 9 yr olds, and their music blows.

Oh, I did - I am not even a big Oasis fan (but do like some of their stuff) - I just can not stand the Beatles fans though, the band was generic pop (it was the New Kids on the Block of it's day) - they are not responsible for every artist today, they did not inspire everyone - they were just a band that played pop and were not great.

It's apparent that 1) you don't know what you're talking about 2) you have no taste in music 3) the only people they inspired were every musician that has been since after The Beatles. Meaning, if they inspired everyone, you'll need to include the local botanist at the flower shop down the street. I get it, you don't like The Beatles. Again, it's not your fault you have bad taste in music.

I know nothing about music (but you are enlightened, so please do share) - I suppose your hipster douche music, if I listened to that I would now have taste?

This is why I made the comment - Beatles fans are some of the most insufferable a-holes

Hipster douche music? That's a new one. Hmmm, where do I start?

The Strokes
Neutral Milk Hotel
Radiohead
The Beatles
Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Justice
Vampire Weekend
Bob Dylan
King Crimson
Joy Division
Animal Collective
The Mars Volta
Aphex Twin
The Flaming Lips
Death From Above 1979
Yes
Miles Davis

And many more...

I shared, therefore, you are now enlightened...

loki see loki do: Why the UK rest of the world is still concerned is beyond me.

They were huge pretty much everywhere and were a top act worldwide right up until they broke up. The U.S. is the only place where their success was fleeting, and even in the U.S. they had four top 20 albums (3 in the top 10, and 7 in the top 30), 3 of which went platinum, and 4 top 40 songs.

Most bands would stab a kitten to fail that hard.

Saw Noel and the High Flying Birds last year.  Was a great show, even though it was basically the album plus a few obvious Oasis tunes.

I don't have a problem with someone not liking the Beatles, but when you say "the band was generic pop (it was the New Kids on the Block of it's day)", then you're either trolling or just ignorant.
