Nothing will ever top this beauty from Oregon. This sub lost her mind over a long investigation that mentions lesbians, Subarus, and Border Collies.

It's kinda sad really. They determined she's not a threat to herself? Wonder which one of those people had a Masters in psychology to come to this conclusion? Sounds to me like she was at least a possible threat to herself and should have been taken to or at least counselled to go somewhere for evaluation and treatment.

I saw this movie 11.5 years ago. Someone else suggested the title and I hadn't heard of the movie before, so the character's progression was all a surprise to me. "Wait, you mean half the people he's talking to were all in his head?"

Just because other people cant hear the voices doesn't mean they aren't real.

WorkingInParadise: culprit?

[www.beec.com image 425x282]

Went to a technical college, had a super christian guy in the dorm.  One day a bunch of us found schematics to wireless radio receivers and wireless radio transmitters.  The plan was to make this guy think he was hearing voices.  And attending a technical college, we could acquire 90% of the parts for free from the school.  Put the receiver in his dorm, hid it somewhere and let the voices fark with him.

We didn't do it.  Instead someone pointed out that this guy already had an online dating profile on a free dating website.  So we found it and had a better time with that.

Florida has the Baker Act, which allows a doctor or law enforcement officer to involuntarily commit a person to a psychiatric facility for up to 72 hours without a court's approval if they have a reasonable belief that the person is a threat to himself or others.

To be considered a threat to yourself, you have to be expressing thoughts of suicide or self-harm, or engaging in actions that a doctor or law enforcement officer reasonably believe will lead to self-harm. Apparently, she wasn't doing that.

/Ex-wife was Baker Acted a few times.

Send her to a hospital? She's a substitute - no health coverage and earning $80 a day. Little wonder they didn't send her.

Dammit, Illuminati! You were supposed to transmit those messages to the THIRD-grade substitute teacher!

Tupac has got to be p*ssed about this. -_-

The term "crazy" gets thrown around a lot these days, very loosely, but that right there... that's some good ol' fashioned bonafide crazy.

I don't get the connection between Border Collies and Lesbians. Google wasn't very helpful either. Maybe it's because they're kind of like Subarus, they're versatile, you can take them anywhere. They're a good general purpose dog, ready for anything.

Unless you are in a comic book or are subtitled, all voices are invisible.

And then its called reading. Now invisible reading would be something!

Probably the voice was the voice of reason, as this IS Florida.

Sub teacher - Don't you hear those voices?
Students - No, I don't hear anything.
Sub teacher - I swear they are there.
Students - No, I don't think so.

Principal comes in and sends her to the office.

Principal - I'll be your new teacher for the rest of the afternoon. Let me ask you something. Did anyone hear any voices?
Students - Again with the voices. No. Is this candid camera or something?

I am not ashamed to tell you that I have bipolar2, PTSD and medication resistant depression (meds work for a limited time and stop working with little to no warning).  Other than the PTSD (rape) the other two are genetic gifts from a long line of very depressed people.

When my medications stop working, one of my clues is that I start to hear things that other people do not.  I am lucky.  It is not voices telling me to do things.  For me, it is more like having a talk radio set really low, where you hear the murmur of voices but not distinct words.  If I let it go and don't seek help, then I get the hallucinations.  Once it was bunnies, but mostly it is like dementors, just out of the corner of your eye.  You see it, but you don't.  Ignore that warning and in a few days I will be looking for ways to kill myself.

My bipolar and depression did not exhibit until my early 30's.  Luckily, it was not too late for my husband and I to make the choice not to have children and pass the curse along to another generation.

I feel for this woman.  She needs help.
