You guys all know that you want to see Daniel Stern get hit with a falling iron again

This begs for a photoshop of Macaulay Culkin with a gun in hand and in gansta getup.  Unfortunately, I'm not the guy to do it.

Hey, NYPost writers, just because they have two BMW's parked at their house does not mean they are swimming in dough.  They may be mortgaged to their gills for all you know.

Given that it's NYPost, I assume it was actually a 32 year old woman who sent away the pizza delivery guy without paying.

Ha, no its not. The amount of people i see living in shiatty apartments driving Acuras, BMWs, and Lexuses is stunning.

Its the culture. when you can only afford either a nice home, or a nice car, you pick the nice car, because people don't see you in your home, but they do see you in your car. Image is everything. $600 rent and a $600 car payment. That's great financial planning.

Using guns to invade a home with a kid inside. These guys both deserved a lead enema, but for the sake of the kid's sanity and future I'm happy he didn't hurt anybody.

I have to pass a trailer park on my way to the office (I live in a super classy area). It's unreal the number of newer cars or cars with big-azz chrome wheels parked outside those homes.

To his defense, he did get shot at by the kid. In most countries, being a kid doesn't enter into the scope of things when discussing firearms. Obviously the guys that broke in deserved to be killed and they aren't good people however. We have this taboo that somehow shooting a child is any different than shooting an adult when you yourself are being shot at. Being a child with a gun does not automatically give you a safe pass. Had this been a grown man instead that shot at the perpetrators, the response would be the polar opposite. "Poor perpetrator was shot at by a crazy lunatic defending himself and property!" It is funny how fark works.

And with a stolen weapon. Well, we can all rest assured that the weapon is properly registered, and it will only take a small bit of paperwork to determine who the rightful owner is so they can return the weapon to them.

Is there some deficiency in the words "burglar" that we must result to calling them "home invaders?" It's not like calling secretaries "administrative assistant" where there might be some reason to elevate the position.

I think the legal distinction might be "someone's home during the crime"...I don't do criminal law, though, and it probably varies by state.

Burglars come in by stealth.  Home invaders come in by force.

You made a good point so I went to Wiki

Home invasion differs from burglary in that its perpetrators have a violent intent apart from the unlawful entry itself, specific or general, much the same way as aggravated robbery-personally taking from someone by force-is differentiated from mere  (theft alone). As the term becomes more frequently used, particularly by the media, "home invasion" is evolving to identify a particular class of crime that involves multiple perpetrators (two or more); forced entry into a home; occupants who are home at the time of the invasion; use of weapons and physical intimidation; property theft; and victims who are unknown to the perpetrators.
