Some women look better after having a kid.  They glow during pregnancy and afterwards, look fantastic.

Kim is not one of those women.  She's gonna be huge and the hormones from the baby will start to make her body hair grow back.

First, that's the baby's placenta, and eating it is a cannibalistic act.  Second, it's disgusting and without any medical benefit whatsoever.

As long as it makes the "news", she'll do it.

I don't think that baby is going to have any attention

Yes please: First, that's the baby's placenta, and eating it is a cannibalistic act.  Second, it's disgusting and without any medical benefit whatsoever.

First, the mom's body grew the placenta, it was attached to the uterus.  Second, it's a lot more common than you are aware of for the mom to ingest the placenta in some form or another.  Often it is dried and encapsulated with herbs and is chock full of hormones that have been known to deter post-partum depression.  But, you know, carry on...

Believe what you want about it containing hormones that prevent postpartum depression.  There's zero legitimate evidence supporting that, but if you believe it hard enough maybe it will work.  And I have no idea how you know how common I think it is, but it's not common at all by any measure.  Does it happen daily?  Probably.  Is it still uncommon?  Yep.  And the placenta is a fetal organ, without any room for argument.  Genetically, physiologically, anatomically, however you want to define it.  That being said, if I was forced at gunpoint to eat one of my newborn child's organs, I guess I would go for the placenta.

This is just farking gross.  And to top it off, I just found out a friend of mine's wife has been drying and encapsulating placentas in their house for money.  GROSS.  Seriously, hippies, there are some things that evolving has improved.  This is one of them.  The reason that animals do it is to not attract predators.

Happens all the time in the animal kingdom. I have seen a couple of cows give birth, and every time they chow down on the placenta. Dont see how this is any different.

There are many animals that either leave weaker offspring to die of exposure or kill them outright.  Especially animals where having one offspring a year is the norm, but multiples occasionally happen.  Next time you see a woman pregnant with twins, ask her how she's going to decide which one to kill.
