Yeah... Why have the circuit between the two sets of claws, rather than adjacent claws on the same hand? The Jacob's Ladder effect would be better.

/probably need a higher voltage, based on the distance, though

I was more impressed by the DIY claws than the electrification.  Those claws are sweet!
