I like the system in the UK. Win the election? You're in power by midday the following day.Of course, if you won the election it means you've been working in the system for years so you already know the ropes.

"The White House staff is similar to a holding company"

That may be the scariest sentence I have ever read.

Jesus.

So I found out from my brother this week that my parents are snarking at me behind my back for voting for Obama and then getting sequestered.  Let's see what life would have been like for scientists under President Romney:

Write a recissions bill to effect an immediate five percent reduction in non-security discretionary spending.

Yeah.  Thanks Mom and Dad, but I'm still ok with my vote.

Every time I think Mitt Romney is the worst candidate for president I could possibly imagine something pops up to make him, well, worse.

It's certainly not the LEAST scary.

I wouldn't get too hung up on Romney himself.  You know damn well that the same people are going to bring the exact same plan with them for ANY Republican who gets elected to ANY office.

I've had it with the idiots calling Obama voters "low-information."

I listened to Romney during the campaign.  This is what he said he was going to do... do NOTHING but enrich himself and his buddies for 4 years.  "Trickle down" was the smallest of fig leaves.. he just *didn't* care about anyone but himself and corporate buddies.  That's it.  That's why I considered him the most scary candidate I've ever seen as a voter.  He made Bush cronyism look tame.

Therefore none of this surprised me.

I always like to think he would have sold off our poorest performing business units (aka states) to a Bain-like company who would have laid off all the workers (aka citizens.. well, non-citizens now) and closed up shop.  Bye Mississippi and Alabama.

Indeed.  A man who made his fortune by dismantling companies and selling them off a piece at a time is comparing our nation to...a company that he would have happily taken charge of and probably did his level best to dismantle and sell off to anyone with a check that clears the bank.

Obama would have had a prominent seat at the inauguration since Romney has proven himself to be bipartisan and the type of person who reaches out to both sides of the aisle.

that's just a Limbaugh talking point.  only the idiot fox news drones actually believe it.  the rest of the world has done their homework on Romney and the GOP...why else do you think the Republicans have suffered so many losses?  not that the GOP will admit they're losing the hearts and minds of the country.  they still believe that america is a 'christian nation' and that this whole Occupy Wall Street neo-hippie thing will just blow over and go away any day real soon now.  the fact that the Republicans are getting their asses kicked isn't considered a real problem...it's a short term anomaly at best.

AKA fark over people who might actually need COLA because it would save us money!!

More and quicker H1B1 visas. so go US products and markets, but not US workers. LOL

"Identify growth-inhibiting Obama-era regulations and path to repeal."
Wait, hasnt this been done already? Why would you need to identify them? Where is the existing list?
LOL I love that they assume that this is required and they can find them, but that there isnt already a clear and obvious list.

Repeal the evil obamacare!!

Expand the military!!!

yup
this is just more evidence that thank god he lost.
on the other hand, sooner or later one of those farker will be in the white house again, raping and pillaging.

its interesting, isn't it?  how little of the doom and apocalypse the GOP promised us has come to pass...by this point in the Obama second term, giant space locusts were supposed to be indoctrinating us all into homosexual abortions and worshiping demonic trees and hippie love ins.  or something.  I find fox news difficult to translate these days.  i'm pretty sure the world was supposed to end by now tho because Obama got a second term.

He can't do that because us liberal pinko-commie fascists would politely remind him those freedoms were actually taken under Bush.  Obama does get a lot of flack for using the same powers republicans gave bush, but ultimately those are the president's powers, even when he's black (until congress takes them away again).

I can remember when Bill Clinton was in office. All I heard was:

"BLACK HELICOPTERS!!!"

"INTERNMENT CAMPS!!!"

"UN TROOPS MARCHING DOWN AMERICAN STREETS!!!"

"BLUE HELMETS EVERYWHERE!!!"

Of course, those imbeciles crawled back under their rocks after Clinton left office. And they didn't make a peep when Bush rammed the Patriot Act down their throats, and genuinely threatened our freedoms.
