i would definitely need to be a little high to do that job!

The sad thing is that the weed, pound for pound, was worth more than anything else that is growing on a farm.

that said, Iowans can sleep safe at night knowing this violent criminal is behind bars.

Bobby, I'm trying to help you. You see, a *circus* clown is a carnie who's too stupid to flip a ride switch on and off. Now you take a circus clown, roll him on the barn floor, and kick him in the head a couple hundred times, and what have you got?

For the record, this was his second conviction for trafficking / manufacturing. He pled guilty to trafficking coke back the 80's.

Still a wildly disproportionate punishment, of course.

I have zero respect for authority figures more interested in garnering support from morons.

It is a peaceful drug. If it were legalized, I see people mellowing out in a good way. Defenses come down, people speak from the heart and are closer to one another. Not sure what the down side is to this drug, other than being illegal. It's relaxing, stress and anxiety vanish. I was against it, I am no longer able to defend it being illegal.

If any of you could list it's disadvantages or harmful effects, I would like to know.

/so I've heard.

The only clowns in this story are the ones keeping marijuana illegal in spite of all rational thought on the subject... them and anyone who thinks that 20 year sentence is justice.

The government doesn't want people peaceful and happy, they want them afraid.

Little details help a lot.

This was the second time Meeks was convicted of federal drug charges.  He was found guilty of three counts related to cocaine trafficking in 1987

I wouldn't want the pilot of my aircraft toking up before he took off.  Or a surgeon.  Taxi driver, teacher, dentist, construction guy etc.
Find a reliable and reasonable test for THC, and it will be legal.

Not DA, Federal Prosecutor, he got 20 years Federal time no parole.

He should have murdered someone.

The jail sentence for first degree murder is usually a lot lighter then it is for growing a plant.

This poor guy could have raped children and gotten off lighter.

And gotten more mileage out of his costume, too.

20 Years? Really? People get less time for rape or murder. Hmm... Grow a plant and get 20 or Rape that hot chick and get 5-10?
I think I'll go with rape.

There is no Federal mandatory minimum for murder. Thank the Reagans and Just Say No.

Nope.  They have that. It's called a 'saliva test'.

http://www.narcocheck.com/en/saliva-drug-tests/thc-marijuana-saliva- te st.html

It tests use in the last couple of hours. That's how long you stay high.  Why don't we use it? Because insurance companies and law enforcement would rather punish people for what they did last weekend.

Vaping it up in hippy CA.

It doesn't have "Merck", "Eli Lily" or "Pfizer" stamped on the side of it.
That's how you can tell that if a drug is evil.

Interesting.  I would question it's accuracy, but it's not as if Breathalyzers are 100% themselves.

Average cost per person $31,500 X 20y = $630,000

Nothing says America like wasteful spending on failed policies. It's better that we pay to keep people in jail instead of fixing our failing infrastructure.

They routinely use them in Australia in their 'hey we can make you pull over for any reason at any time' traffic stops.

Really, you honestly think a crime that is punished with the death penalty or life without parole is a lighter sentence than what this guy got?

They already are.

In fact, making it legal would mean MORE testing and LESS stoned pilots and doctors.  But it sends the wrong message to the kids.
