MFAWG: At about 180mph

I call shenans. Not with 4.11's, and probably not ever.

Don't be so quick do doubt. There may well have been 7 or 8 leaf blowers in that bad boy. Perhaps a little extra boost from a weed whacker impeller, too.

porcelainmonkey: LesserEvil: In High School (early 80s), my best friend's brother had a 1977 Monza Mirage

[ image 575x400]
He had replaced the engine with a 350 he had built, 4:11 posi rear end... it pushed over 500hp and he boasted he could crank the engine to 10k rpm -  and the car was FAST. He would race motorcycles down at the local racing hangout in Flint (St. Johns st). Unfortunately, it had a small issue... he had gotten the car from his sister, who had busted the front air dam in a parking mishap. At about 180mph, the front end would start lifting up.

My buddy would sometimes borrow the car from his brother.... always an interesting ride, particularly when you have a blow out at 160mph.

Good times....the car was legendary around these parts.

/I miss car cruising, too.

This is a Mazda Mirage. The car in the video is a Chevrolet Monza.
