Sadly, the drivers were wearing white pants.

The pants didn't make it.

Is that a Yukon? Wouldn't they be better off in a go-kart?

That's not important now. We need to have a moment of silence. For the pants.

Do they mount the tornadoes on the wall or something after they catch them?

Incredibly, it was in the last place they looked.

Why does they use old APCs? Lots of room for equipment, and it's pretty much immune to flying debris. And the weight is road legal, and it's heavy enough to not get blown away, I would think.

Road conditions in ok are bad to worse. Can the apc handle dirt roads with huge potholes, while dodging telephone poles?

Ummmm....they are designed for battlefields and roads. Short of crossing a river, I don't think bad roads would be an issue.

On the surface, it's a good idea, but there's the issue of fuel economy and top speed.  Unless it can do 80mph up the interstate to intercept, and have a range of at least 300 miles, I'm not sure it would be feasible.

They don't use old APCs because the Army is not giving them away for free. The vehicles they use on camera are provided by sponsors.

Wondering if they will continue to think using a off-the-lot factory build vehicle with a lot of junk strapped to the luggage rack is a "great idea!!!" after this?

/you know they will... comp-advertising for whichever company they can talk into giving them a vehicle.
//did they mention if they 'named' that particular tornado,  yet?

I would've thought they'd put a rollcage in there at least, in case the car rolls over... but nope. They probably just put a bunch of stickers on the outside and said, 'Fark it. It's a tornado. How dangerous can it be?' and drove off in blissful ignorance.

They should use an old presidential limo. With weathermen hanging off the Secret Service external foot and hand rails, shouting "I've seen bigger dust devils! You Pansie! You wanna go?" Trust me. The tornado will get embarrassed and leave. Or it might turn around and kick the crap out of them. OK, not a perfect plan. But it MIGHT just work.

That too, but even if they had access to them, I can't see them working from a practical standpoint
