Yea.

And so will this douche. 'cuz that's pretty damn douchey.

/ also, why won't the media print the party affiliation of the person being mentioned in articles like this when it's a Democrat?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they have to apologize and then read about it in the newspaper and everything.

KDKA reported Wednesday that an industry-funded group had traced anti-drilling posts that appeared under the constituent's name to White's state e-mail address.

Now how long until we out the people who traced that?  Opinions on fracing aside(no problem with it here), hiding behind an "industry-funded group" is just complete cowardice.

'There's a pattern here," White said. "Every time I'm able to come close to finding out some information, I am immediately subjected to these kind of hit jobs to try to distract me."

Sounds like he found some information since this hit job came to him.

FTA
"State Rep. Jesse White (D., Washington) issued a statement after a Pittsburgh television station reported that industry backers had linked him to an online comment posted in a constituent's name."

unless that was what you meant by the "//oh...wait..."

Then I guess that was the joke and as usual I missed it.

"I comment under my own name," he said. except when he doesn't. How many times has he used a pseudonym before, but wasn't caught?

Other than his awesome Fox Mulder complex, he seems like a real douchebag product of the snowflake generation. "It's not my fault...they shouldn't have caught me being a duplicitous farkhole....it's their fault. mommmmmmmyyyyyyyy"

Really gives perspective to the lengths the oil companies will go when it comes to trying to polish that abominable concept.  It is the very definition of short-term gain without any heed to the long term consequences.

Is this where all of us posting on the internet under false/manufactured identities yell at a guy for posting on the internet under false/manufactured ?

It is?!

Well, let me tell you what a real piece of crap this guy is. And those poor gas industry employees, being demonized for things they may very well be doing. It's the greatest injustice I've ever seen.

/makes fist

Jeez, what an absolute asshole.  I can't believe someone would try and post under a false name on the internet.  Now if you'll excuse me, I have lunch plans with my parents, Mr. and Mrs. boom.

What long term consequences?

Oil companies have been fracking since the 1940's

I would not be surprised at all.  I have the feeling most of the letters to the editor that are pro-fracking are written by people in the industry whether or not they reveal it.  The same exact points often worded the same or damn near close to it.  However, White should not have used his constituents' names in the manner he did.  As for the anonymity without using his constituents' names, I'm thinking in this case it was probably acceptable.

Vertical fracking.  Not High Volume Horizontal Fracking.  What gas company do you work for?

Coincidentally the 1940s are when smoking became incredibly popular, precedent does not always mean 'good idea'.

If you don't know what the long term effects of fracking are yet want to challenge that:  Study it up, I'm not doing the homework for someone so naive.  But suffice to say:  There's good reason many countries have suspended/banned the process until it can be regulated to the point where it won't bone the surrounding region's water system and everything else along with it.

Until then...

You know what else took a really long time before a paper that formally exposed its dangers could get past the powerful lobby that supports it?  Cigarettes.

I wondered how the fracking  folks got hold of this guy's IP address.  Had  to find a Patch.com report that explained he posted on a Web site run by the industry.  Fark the MSM.
