see proof that they need better sex ed in schools. Or free condoms.

2001-11-29 05:14:39 PM
That explains it.

2001-11-29 05:15:33 PM
Uhm, do ya think it's because we completely repress any kind of safe sex teachings here? In the other countries, they acknowledge that sex happens, and they provide birth control, and education for teens.

Here we say "sex is bad" - no condom for you!

2001-11-29 05:16:03 PM
And THIS is why NBA players should be locked up unless actually participating in a game.

2001-11-29 05:18:47 PM
..and they'll still teach (the unrealistic) abstinance in sex-ed...

what the fark is in the politician's brains when they think of such policy.

"Fb- is the father."

Man, this website beats jokes to dead faster than Saturday Night Live.

How you people became the most powerful nation in the world, I'll never understand.

Here we say "sex is bad" - no condom for you!

What planet are you living on? When I was in high school 10 years ago they did not have abstinance classes. Very few teach abstinance in health classes or sex ed. Most schools handout condoms as well.

I think someone has their head up their ass.

2001-11-29 05:25:34 PM
are you kidding? more often then not the moral majority complains about what little sex ed we have.
When I was in school we were taught that abstinence in the best policy but if you just can't resist use a condom.

and most teens would rather spend money on a cd then on an overpriced box of rubbers.

And let's not forget the Bush Administration's attempts to cut birth control coverage from the health plans of all federal works...

If there's one thing that this current administration looks the most nuts for, it's their notion (which they've actually acted on) that protection and bc lead to more pregnancy and STDs. It's insane :P

2001-11-29 05:26:32 PM
I was waiting for this one when I first saw the headline.

2001-11-29 05:27:24 PM
er, "workers", not "works". :)

Rosalea:

That, and our culture tries to guilt kids not into having sex, so that they're too embarassed to buy protection.

The_marq:

You got me? I think it was our turn for dumb luck, but just wait, the way we are going, we will fark up soon enough.

2001-11-29 05:31:07 PM
yeah last time I bought condoms the teenage guy ringing me up blushed and stammered {rolls her eyes}
we need to teach children these days that sex is normal. That its fun, but also a responsibility.
instead of burying our heads in the sand and telling them no its bad and wrong don't do it.

2001-11-29 05:31:19 PM
Duh.........and im the father

2001-11-29 05:31:25 PM
Okay you, this ain't time to argue! This is time to tell people to stop putting "Fb- is the father" in their taglines, especially if they're not Fb-!

2001-11-29 05:32:17 PM
I didn't have any sex ed at all. I had the "you're going to start bleeding, you know...down there..." talk sponsored by the friendly people at Kimberly Clark, but other than that didn't get a thing.

A girl I know had no sex ed in school, and only learned about the existence of birth control pills after she got pregnant. Damn shame.

2001-11-29 05:34:16 PM
Uncle sam is a pimp, and america is the whore.

2001-11-29 05:34:21 PM
That's exactly what I was going to say Rei. Hell, I'm 21, and I'm embarrased to go pick up a box of rubbers when I need them. I can't imagine what I would have done had I had a sex life a few years ago. Schools should give out more condoms. You're not going to stop kids from having sex, but you will at least prevent some of the "bad things" that happen when you do.

2001-11-29 05:36:37 PM
I bet it's because they are wearing the Ambercrombie shirts "After the sun goes down, so do we" mentioned in the next article...

2001-11-29 05:37:04 PM
The terrorists have already won.

2001-11-29 05:37:18 PM
exactly AND maybe teach them how to put on a condom.
make birth control pills more accessible to girls under 18 without parental permission.
boot doctors who treat you like a kid when you want birth control straight out of hospitals

2001-11-29 05:37:39 PM
2 years ago, they taught us abstinence.. but they also taught safe sex.. however, it seems once again tides be changing.. most teachers feel uncomfortable addressing the issue.. (That I am hearing about on the news and from young friends)

But, then again, I am unwilling member of the abstinence program...

Nothing works better for birth control than Acne, eh?

2001-11-29 05:39:03 PM
Slow down Fb-...

2001-11-29 05:42:15 PM
Well, if teaching kids abstince isn't working and supplying condoms is out of the question, there is really only one option left.

All anal, all the time.

That should cut the pregnacy rate.

2001-11-29 05:42:41 PM
how about all oral all the time?

2001-11-29 05:44:48 PM
Random ramblings:
22 percent of teen pregnancies are planned. Add on a few more percent where the kid was planned by the mother but not the father or vice-versa, and we're up to ~30%.

This is something no # of free condoms can help.

I wasn't taught abstinence 10 years ago when I was in sex ed.

There is such a wide spectrum of values among American parents, and a strong streak of intolerance of differing viewpoints along this entire spectrum, that any sex ed curriculum becomes a biology course.

2001-11-29 05:47:06 PM
yeah we also need to boost selfconfidence and such in teenage girls....so many choose to have children out of a desire to have someone to love them no matter what.

2001-11-29 05:47:37 PM
It's amazing that a man can go into a bar, high five his pals and yell "I got some last night," but buying condoms is embarassing. What better way to show you're optomistic about your sex life in the short term?

"Most schools handout condoms as well."

Really? Where? Mine never did, but then again, I'm from the midwest. Now, in college, they did. One unfortunate soul thought it would be funny to inflate one, and he discovered that his skin (specifically, his lips) react allergically to the lubricant.

2001-11-29 05:50:31 PM
"how about all oral all the time?"

Only if the schools pass out free soap.

2001-11-29 05:52:17 PM

MediaMadeMeKill You're mistaken, sweets- I never had sex ed courses. Abstinence was applauded and shouted from the rooftops, condoms were certainly *not* (thanks for the backup Henchman) provided by my school, and it was HORRID going to the clinic (or worse, my physician) to obtain or discuss birth control.
And I live in the sunny, liberal Bay Area CA.

2001-11-29 06:02:42 PM
Yeah I wish my school had handed out condoms... the looks I would get some times me being 16 walking into a store to get a dozen. The store clerk would look at me like I was something he found stuck to his shoe; I think mostly because I had been in there every two or three weeks to pick up another dozen, and he was jealous.

2001-11-29 06:16:43 PM
Damn, I'm jealous too, CA. I would have been grateful for pretty much any sex life when I was 16.

What would you expect now that Bill is out of office and free to roam

2001-11-29 06:25:11 PM
Funny how Bill Clinton is lambasted for his virility, yet his opponent in the '96 election is the spokesperson for Viagra.

Gee, I'm sure that would raise your partner's self confidence...

Nice comment about dole, though, I never thought of that :)

2001-11-29 06:35:03 PM
Here in Idaho, sex ed is simply not taught at all (fundies with hands over ears yelling LA-LA-LA-LA). We have one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the Nation. Coincidence? Seriously, though, a good sex ed class should have a lab with it.

2001-11-29 06:36:23 PM
Yeah Quick1, butI think though that I used up most of nookie allowance for my life, as I am now 28 and having a hard time getting a date.

2001-11-29 06:37:57 PM
so what's the problem?

I wasn't aware of Dole bangin interns half his age, and why would Bill be a spokesperson for the big V, he clearly doesn't have a problem gettin it up?
The safe sex pic wins!
