This is why the good Lord created hotels, so that weird messed up extra-marital affairs like this one have a neutral location where both parties can get their freak on.

Flores, the surviving central actor in the episode besides Wald, testified she was "black-out" drunk the night of the shooting after consuming a large quantity of cognac and remembered almost nothing.

Ah - and this is why he was acquitted.  Wife was drunk, and therefore could not consent.  Young fella was schtuppin' her anyway.  Ergo, hubby was shooting a guy raping his wife in his own home.

This gruesome twosome should both be in prison.  Better yet if we could detach Florida from the rest of the country and tow it far out to sea.

Three rules for life:

1.  Do not have sex with another man's wife.
2.  Do not have sex with another man's wife in his home.
3.  Do not have sex with another man's wife in his home, while he is at home.

Anything that happens to you if you break those rules is on you, not the husband.

"He is the kind of American who has made this country great." makes Florida's people and its crazy laws a laughingstock.

Fixed. Shooter belongs in prison for manslaughter.

TheGregiss: Dude, your wife is a whore.

I see this a lot with retired military dudes.  They get out of service after 25 years and hook up with a much younger woman who really needs a place to live.   Let's say the relationships aren't based on love or mutual respect.

According to the testimony of one person. The guy was acquitted because the jury thought vigilante justice is acceptable. Not because the law was on the side of the defendent.

Does the prosecution have any recourse if the jury intentionally ignores the law in their conclusions?

Sounds like the perfect murder. Get wife to lure your enemy back to your home. Get him on the floor with his pants off. Have wife scream rape. You run out of bedroom and shoot guy. Defend your ground law. Profit? Then celebrate at Waffle House (this is Florida after all)

Yeah, the woman who was raped.

Do we live under Sharia or something where it only counts as rape if you have two adult men witness the act, otherwise we just ignore the testimony of the woman who was actually raped?

As the saying goes in bird hunting:

"Good one! You shot him on the rise!"

2013-05-31 09:24:18 AM
However, Wald's attorneys argued he did not recognize Conley - a resident of Lovers Lane in Riverview and old flame of Flores - and shot him thinking he was an intruder raping his wife.

Always go with "I thought he was raping my wife."

Then why did you shoot her, too?

I'm a bad shot.

She was too drunk to consent therefore she was raped.  What's so hard for people to understand that drunk girls can not consent to sex.

She was too drunk to consent therefore she was raped.  What's so hard for people to understand that drunk girls can not consent to sex.

And yet drunk men are held legally responsible for having sex with drunk girls.  Drunk everybody is held responsible for driving, fighting, stealing, arson, or whatever else you can think of.

I don't know if she ever actually claimed she was raped.  It was the husband who thought she was being raped.

In fact, nowhere in the article does she claim that she was raped.  Yes, she claims she was drunk, but she did not appear to believe that she was being raped.

Drunk farking doesn't equal rape.  If a man and a woman love each other very much, they can get hammered and fark without it being a felony.  I think everyone involved understands that, otherwise the word "rape" would be in the headline of the article.
