Confabulat: tenpoundsofcheese: I thought the "joke" had to do with him walking out of the hospital.

Wow.

Yeah, wow indeed.  That's what I thought too!

If he walked out of the hospital he would have had a police escort.  Either that or he just got up in the middle of the night and went out to get fresh air and the police guarding him didn't notice.

12349876: tenpoundsofcheese: Isn't it too early for him to "walk" on a technicality?

That was just the example sentence from the dictionary.  Anybody who gets caught up in the legal system and doesn't get prosecuted or convicted could be counted as "walking".  Like suspects who are taken into the station but don't get arrested.  Cop shows say "Let him walk" all the time after they've interviewed a suspect they can't arrest.

Yeah, but given the high profile of the case and the number of  people killed, why would they let him walk at that point?

Not sure why you are moving the goal posts.  First you say technicality then you say it is because the cops can't arrest him.

I thought he was already arrested?

I copypasted the full dictionary definition.  The "technicality" thing was an example of how to use the word properly.  That's how dictionaries farking work.  It is not the only way to define the word and the ACTUAL definition is much more broad.  Here it is again.

to avoid criminal prosecution or conviction

Definition number 7 for the intransitive verb use of "walk" in the Merriam Webster online dictionary.

: to avoid criminal prosecution or conviction <walked on a technicality>

No, I don't think that's it since it doesn't make sense.
Isn't it too early for him to "walk" on a technicality?
There has been no trial yet and the prosecution is still pulling together it's case.

I thought the "joke" had to do with him walking out of the hospital.

No, you are not. If you haven't had your head buried in the sand lately, you knew he wasn't getting out of jail for a long time, if only for his own protection. I knew it meant he was ambulatory, and if you didn't, you are out of touch.

Its entirely feasible that some cop screwed something up in the investigation process that could lead to charges being dropped against the guy. You know, human error and everything.

Why are they letting this turd get up and walk? Wtf?  They should take his ass outside, strap a bomb to his lower limbs and set it off.  Let him see what that shiat feels like.  Protect his upper body and have medics ready to go, of course.  We wouldn't want him to die until after we can dole out more punishment.

SUPER trolltastic. 10/10

You know, I'm a bit of a mush. I actually felt sorry for this kid a wee bit, after reading what little we know. Seemed like his big brother dragged him down the nutjob hole.

Then I look at pics of him placing the bomb by that those kids, right next to that little boy he killed.

And then I feel he should reap the full consequences of his actions. Which yeah, is totally going to be the death penalty.

/fark 'em

Lady Indica: Seemed like his big brother dragged him down the nutjob hole.

I always wondered about that part of the story line.

I would expect that if only one of the two survived, that the survivor would blame the dead person for dragging him down and try to play a victim card for some sympathy.

In that picture before the bombing maybe he was following his brother to make sure that the brother is not going to chicken out (vs. he was following him because he was the subservient one).

I'm not sure how anyone saw this headline as trolling.  At least in the sense that it seems such obvious troll that it couldn't be.  There are some cases where the defendant "walks" due to some "letter of the law" technicality.  But did you really think that even if such a technicality existed in this case it would ever see the light of day?  The only people trolled here are the ones optomistic enough to think that high profile cases get a fair shake.  People blindly want solid answers where only whispy ones exist, and hopefully a death so they can return to a point of perceived safety and let the water flow under the bridge.  This guy could only "walk" on some fictional justice system drama show.
