Suspects may be cuddly and innocuous.   I repeat suspects may be cuddly and innocuous.

Police received a report last weekend of the suspicious van in Chesterville, located southeast of Ottawa

Ah, Canada.  That explains it.

If you see a chicken lady, do not approach her van.
Trust me on this.

before the  diddler stigma that was probably a pretty good way to get rid of an unwanted litter of dogs or cats, no kid is going to refuse a kitten or puppy then it becomes the parents problem when he/she brings it home.

How about offering the kids puppies? Because that's the kind of thing you really want to run by a parent first.

What a perfect setup.  Now that they have convinced the cops that they are really giving out free puppies, anyone who tries to call the police on them will be told, "Don't worry...he really is just giving away puppies.  You should get in the van and check them out."  And then BAM...police-assisted kidnap accomplished.

Did the van have a mural with a half naked chick riding a dragon? Every full size conversion van should have that mural.

The Walmart parking lot in my town has become the kitten/puppy connection over the last several years.  Every Saturday the end of the lot is filled with them.

Because it would take longer to get rid of them, duh. It's called responsibility: their parents shouldn't be sending them out by themselves without enough sense (or fear of parental wrath) to turn down free puppies.

If they were really smart, they'd have had their kids giving the puppies away to other kids. Then they get rid of the puppies AND get plausible deniability.

This kind of common sense scheming used to be a proud American tradition. And now? All I can say is THANKS OBAMA

Maybe the chick could offer up her sister as an underage sex doll after drugging her with animal tranquilizers... then cover up the murder later when the sister chokes on her own vomit.

If we're talking responsibility, I'm going to go with SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR DAMN PETS, YOU IDIOTS. Then you wouldn't have to be out trying to pawn puppies off on kids.

No no no no...

You don't offer the kids a puppy, you ask the kids if they will help you FIND your lost puppy.

Offer candy and juice boxes to seal the deal.

Indeed.  The ladyfriend's new pup (a borzoi mix; we suspect his other part is Aussie since he displays heterochromia) is a quadruple-handful, and he hasn't even figured out how to coordinate his legs yet.  I really can't imagine kids being ready for that kind of commitment without their parents being fully on-board.

I can definitely understand the desperation involved in such a technique.  Girlfriend just got brought home a jack russel/boxer that is about 4 months old.

So, burial at sea for your lost shoes, or viking funeral fire? We have a Beagle/Russel mix. Whenever I say that to people who know breeds, they just laugh and shake their heads....
