Hmmm, Mr. Gibbering Nutbag, your random acts of violence make a verrrrrrrry strong argument for you being armed to the gills.  I'm going to have to reconsider my opinion on asking for checks on mental illness.

Here's some background music and Tuli Kupferberg running around the financial district with a M-16.

MaudlinMutantMollusk: Wayne LaPierre to announce support for the legalization of ricin in 5... 4... 3...

Ricin in every school!

Seriously though, many of the gun nuts are sh*tting their minds out there.

I took up target shooting a few years ago and got in to it, so I hang out at a popular gun blog sometimes, and tend to roll my eyes a lot, but goddamn! Within a few posts someone will yell False Flag! and 10 others will chime in right behind him.

Face it, guys, while most gun owners are sane and sensible, there is a higher proportion of nutjobs among our ranks than the general population. That's the truth about guns.

You'll find a lot of paranoid weirdos at a gun shop for sure, it is one of the prices we pay. Sometimes they're amusing, sometimes they make you worry.

One thing I've learned is they are all willing to screw each other over at the first available opportunity.

I suppose it's a side-effect of simple numbers; when you get up to 300 million people, a one-in-a-million nutjob will have.. about 299 or so friends.

I have a feeling that people's opinion on guns is related strongly to how much time they spend in crowded places. If you live in low-density 'burbs and rarely go anywhere busier than the local mall, you probably think they're great. If you spend a lot of time at conventions, arenas, and in metropolitan areas, you probably think they should stay home.

Yep.  Gave up on a number of gun laws / gun information listservs / websites / forums, seemed to all really go crazy around 10 years ago.

Moved to Texas two years ago, started to get back into shooting (lived in Jersey for the last 10 years).  The number of paranoid conspiracy theorists and retards is really damn annoying.  And due to the "OMG, OBAMA IS GOING TO BAN GUNS" idiocy, it's near impossible to get 9mm, .22, and a bunch of other common rounds.

"willing to kill their opponents". You have to show a willingness to actually do that - ya know, by shooting at them or sending ricin in the mail. ITG (and the IRL equivalent) bravado shows a willingness to make a fool of yourself in order to impress others  - it doesn't show a willingness to kill

1. Ricin is relatively easy to make compared to other poisons.

2. Liberal women, being obsessed with incense and various scented things will by default sniff any powder they come in contact with.

3. Liberal men, being universally weak and allergic to everything due to their fathers not being real men will often sneeze when they come in contact with an unknown substance.  It's also a defense mechanism, similar to the ink spraying of the humboldt squid

Well, the threats are pretty much as hollow as can be. Remember that the nutters don't trust each other either. The ones that are publicly making these stupid statements only do so passively with silly stickers and righteous outrage on the radio. Their will and capacity to act on any of those statements is pretty close to zero.

It doesn't matter that a few (gun owners/Muslims) have done monstrous things and hurt and killed a lot of people, here and in other countries.  They are not representative of the larger culture.  Every day millions of (gun owners/Muslims) go about their lives, working, playing, helping their community, never harming anyone.  True, there are some who take their cultural beliefs too far, threatening innocents and, rarely, acting on those threats.  They cannot be used as an excuse to take away the (2nd/1st) Amendment rights of an entire class of people, most of whom are entirely innocent and love this country as much as you or I.

It's like the left and the right aren't even trying to be different anymore.  Every policy maker is working from the same Mad Libs sheet...and in the beginning you fill out 'People you like' and 'People you hate'.

You can add all the Mountain West states to that list as well. I can say, though, that Obama's Administration has really caused people to dial back on them; they've mostly been replaced with "Impeach the kenyan" type stickers now.

I once overhead a guy on his cellphone talking to a friend about how to hide a gun in your backyard ("one thing is to make sure the metal detectors won't detect the case or the gun") for when Obama came for them.

It's funny that he's that paranoid but willing to talk about it on his cell phone.

skullkrusher:

no, it's not really frequent at all when you consider the millions upon millions of gun nuts in the country.

Its frequent enough thank you.

There is something about guns. Something they do to your brain. They become the most important thing of all to people who took them up as a hobby or just as a minor security thing or just because everyone does a bit of shooting in their social circle.. a couple of years later they are the center of your farking life and you are willing to talk about murder to keep them. it is farked up.

These ricin letters are just a test.

1. Government decides to take guns
2. Government sends letter to that effect.
3. Government sends second letter, envelope has Ricin Inside! sticker.
4. Government takes gun from cold, dead hands wearing ricin proof gloves.
5. Prophet

2013-05-30 06:24:17 PM
Why are these people using ricin? It's a nasty chemical, but it's hard to get a lethal dose actually into a person. I think the only person who has dies through a ricin attack has been a guy who was injected with it via a trick umbrella.

Satanic_Hamster: Deadite: I always thought he died of asphyxiation. He has the gimp mask on and zipped up so his mouth can't open wide and the nose holes aren't exactly wide for full air flow. Then the gimp got knocked the fark out and his fat ass is slumping with the only thing holding him up is his neck and the dog collar chained to the roof. I always guessed his weight and the collar on his neck slowly choked him to death.

The really weird part about that movie? He's the only character that died happy. Think about it he's obviously a life long sex slave being kept in a full restricted bodysuit in a box in a basement. So far he's living his dream. Then the last thing his mind hears before loss of oxygen shuts his brain off, is a masculine sounding guy talk about getting some hard pipe hitting nubian's to show up and get to work on them. Right before he dies his brain is fantasizing about whats going to happen when some true tops/doms show up. Just like the guy from INXS.

That's assuming, of course, that Mr. Wallace didn't torture him to death.

Why in the hell would Marcelus Wallace torture the gimp to death?   I don't think he would see him as an active participant in his capture and rape.

I always thought he asphyxiated from hanging from the leash as well.

I'm confused about the sincerity of the analysis above that the gimp "died happy".  I can't wrap my mind around whether "so far he's living his dream" is serious.

skullkrusher: willing to kill their opponents". You have to show a willingness to actually do that - ya know, by shooting at them or sending ricin in the mail. ITG (and the IRL equivalent) bravado shows a willingness to make a fool of yourself in order to impress others - it doesn't show a willingness to kill

There's a whole retail industry revolving around burying shiat in your backyard inside PVC pipes. Supposedly, if you bury your soon-to-be-taken AR or AK in a PVC pipe with end caps threaded on and sealed, then bury it right over your sewer line, they'll never find it because they'll think the metal is just the sewer pipe.

Just bought two new guns in the last two weeks, first time I bought a gun in like 14 years.  Mildly annoyed that the Ruger came with a NRA application.   The Smith and Wesson came with a link to a webform on their website that will email for you a pre-made letter to your Congressman demanding that no gun laws be passed ever.

But whoever it is, you know for sure it's not some gun rights advocate. That's just not possible, because a real gun advocate would own guns. And if he owns guns, that means he passed a background check to get them. And if he passed a background check to get them, that means he's mentally fit as a fiddle!

...you're gonna have a bad time.

Glad to see your priorities are straight.

As do you: "Well, it makes sense a Teabagger would send him ricin because they all think he was born in Indonesia."

Sorry.  It was difficult for me to distinguish your joke from actual Teabagger rhetoric.  Maybe include a smiley face next time.

It's harder to find the difference between your racist "joke" and that of a teabagger.

I wasn't aware that Teabaggers are a race.  Proof?

That's what you came up with?

Really?

That's the best you can do?

Come on, now, surely you can do better than that.

Here, try again.

Dude, you're a child.  I'll try to explain it slowly, but you have very poor reading comprehension.  I made fun of Teabaggers (not a race) because they are stupid and racist and probably think there's a connection between Indonesia and ricin and rice.  You are imputing a racial element to a possible terrible event in human history.  Why, according to your Teabagger-verbatim joke, would a person who does the unthinkable have a "bad time" in prison?

Further, you should be upset and whatever jerk has sent the letter.  Not daydreaming about something else.

dr_blasto: There's a whole retail industry revolving around burying shiat in your backyard inside PVC pipes. Supposedly, if you bury your soon-to-be-taken AR or AK in a PVC pipe with end caps threaded on and sealed, then bury it right over your sewer line, they'll never find it because they'll think the metal is just the sewer pipe.

I've heard of sewer lines made out of clay, and I've heard of sewer lines made out of concrete. I've heard of sewer lines made out of ABS, and then there's that space-age stuff they use when they "burst" a failed clay pipe to replace it. I've even heard of sewer lines made out of wood - in Tacoma, WA a few years ago workmen discovered old side sewers made out of cedar, which had held up surprisingly well for over a century.

But one thing I've never heard of is a sewer line made from any kind of metal. I could be wrong, of course, but I don't believe they exist.

Which makes your story even funnier.

In case it hasn't been mentioned yet, you're supposed to powder to ricin so fine it makes lingering white clouds of dust when shaken. That gets inhaled.

Ricin is a catalytic poison. It can rape a cell's ribosomes into gibbering goo, and come out unharmed and head for the next one.

You need a ball mill to really get it fine enough. See the book by Uncle Fester.

Makes sense, actually. Ricin is a biomolecule. A protein. That means bacteria can eat it. Moist ricin becomes a truly putrid brownish mess with snotlike tendrils running through it if it's at room temperature for any meaningful timeframe.

Trying to make ricin, though, is a serious pain in the ass because you have to crack open the beans. And castor beans are hard. Even if you soak them in lye for an hour, they're still murder to open. By contrast, soak a nail clipping in lye for an hour and it'll disintegrate into its component amino acids.

omnibus_necanda_sunt: In case it hasn't been mentioned yet, you're supposed to powder to ricin so fine it makes lingering white clouds of dust when shaken. That gets inhaled.

Ricin is a catalytic poison. It can rape a cell's ribosomes into gibbering goo, and come out unharmed and head for the next one.

You need a ball mill to really get it fine enough. See the book by Uncle Fester.

I think I'll hold off on Googling anything ricin related if you get my drift...

demaL-demaL-yeH: skullkrusher: demaL-demaL-yeH: skullkrusher: No, it's not an attack. He's just talking to himself.

ah, and another joins the fray. Wasn't particularly funny or biting though. Maybe you should stick on the sidelines?

Does somebody need to whack you upside the head with a clue-by-four so you'll know when I'm addressing you (instead of gimmegimme), you self-titled "imbecilic dishonest coont"?

again, not funny or biting. If you'd like to refer to me while addressing him without my response, I suggest you email him or converse in a place that isn't a public forum. But then you wouldn't be able to garner the internet highfives you're so desperately craving. On the other hand, if you don't post in public you won't have to shame yourself while trying to be witty. Quite the dilemma.

What I'm craving is for you to make a principled (in every sense of that word) argument.

you say a lot of shiat that has no bearing on the matters or situation at hand. Just hoping that people will think it sounds good without actually looking into it and thereby get you some of those backslaps from anonymous strangers on the internet that you bizarrely desire?

You jumped onto the losing end of a clearly losing argument. Deal with it, scoop up what remains of your self-respect and go away.

Corvus: Wow pro-gun nuts think political assassinations are an ok thing? Imagine that.

They actually believe that is the purpose of the 2nd Amendment.

So, nothing, as usual.
As expected.

/I'll remember to add unprincipled to your farkie, and note that that term came from me.
