Pretty much. Had a coworker that was wrong about 99.99% of the time. And when he would argue he would jsut get louder and louder his face would turn beet red and you could almost see him foaming at the mouth. You could have concrete proof in front of him that he was wrong and he still wouldnt admit it. Ended up getting him fired when he got into a huge blowout with an executive asst one day.

I love how being perceived as "winning the argument" isn't the same thing as "being right" when it comes to debates. "He was stylish, confident, attractive, and loud - clearly, even though he's obviously wrong, he wins the argument."

I don't care how "confident" you appear - if you're wrong, you're wrong. It bothers me that being confidently wrong is somehow perceived as "better" than being right, but unwilling to express it with confidence.

Is this why climate change is perceived as "contentious", even though just about every friggin' authority figure on the planet regarding the subject has clearly stated that we're in deep doo-doo - because we have confidently wrong idiots in places where they can shout louder than the scientists?

Orrrrr MAYBE it just shows that people who use Twitter are more inclined to believe assertive tweeters.

Beware generalizing from homogenized sample sets to a generalized population.

Study is flawed.  The sample size were those of 'sports fans' which is skewed towards loud mouth, alcoholic infused, bro-logic.  (aka: screaming)

This is why I don't with argue black women from New Orleans. They will just scream at me and make me the one to look like an asshole even though I'm right. I've seen these fiery women put $25 green chips in their purses during poker matches at the casino only to have them completely deny the truth while screaming and using ad hominem attacks against me.
