They should get together with the Rembrandts and Hootie and the Blowfish and do a Bands Who Were Featured On Friends Reunion Tour. That would ROCK.

Darius is too busy being Mr Awesome in Country Music right now for Hootie to reunite. But, if Ben Folds Five can do it (with Ben doing the solo thing too), why not?

They had a great bluesy groove to them but went too far into the jam band thing for me to be able to stomach them.

Sounds like they figured out they had something.

I once met them at my coke dealer's apartment around 94 when they made a tour stop.   Nice guys, but very talkative.

Saw them play in 1992...bassist stopped the show when a bunch of meatheads started a mosh pit during Two Princes. Told them all to cut it out and to find a bunch of girls and just dance.

I've seen them twice at a couple of street fair type events in the 2000s. They played everything waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay slower than the album. Not sure if they were too stoned to play at the right speed, or just trying to stretch their hits to fill their time.

I knew Aaron Comess as a kid (sort of - my older brother used to hang with him and they played together occasionally in high school). The guy is a fantastic drummer.

"Two Princes" has an undeniable ear worm quality to it. Just hear it played somewhere once, and it'll still be ringing in your head two weeks later.

I recently realized I'd had a "'Scuse me while I kiss this guy" understanding of a lyric in "Little Miss Can't be Wrong" since the song came out.  The lyric is "I take that back, I hope you're doing fine," not "I dig that black guy, hope you're doing fine," as I'd been hearing it for the past 20 or so years.

Vermont ? I'm pretty sure those guys are all living in NYC

Saw the Spin Doctors open for Blues Traveler a few months ago at the newly renovated Capitol Theatre in Portchester NY.

Chris Barons voice sounded great and he still has tons of energy for a front man. They were never a huge favorite of mine but they can play and have some good tunes.

You have to understand - it was '92 and everyone was soaked in grunge angst. I can't remember exactly what he said, but the band seemed to be just as confused about it as you are.

There were worse bands back them.   I saw them when I was in high school, and remember them being a decent live band, but this was long before I started my deep disdain for jam bands.  What can I say, I liked them, but never loved them.  Probably never will.

Nope, not on a boat. At Ravinia, an outdoor concert venue in the north Chicago suburbs. Nice place. Can just hang out on the lawn and drink/eat whatever you bring in. I've seen Steve Miller Band and James Taylor there among others.

You're thinking of The Way

They were a fun live band and Chris Barron was a blast to interview. Five second question, five minute answer and none of it made sense. Naturally, that required another five second follow up. Lather, rinse, repeat, have the boss scream at you. Damn, I miss radio at times.

I saw them once outside Albany, NY when I was in college - they were doing an eight-stop reunion tour in New York. That was back in 2002 or 2003. They played a solid two hours and sounded great. I remember wondering if I was too young to be going to reunion concerts.

After the show, the band hung out and my friend got to chat with Mark White, the bassist, for a bit. He'd picked up his interest in playing bass from listening to the basslines on Spin Doctors tracks. I think they exchanged e-mail addresses at the time too.

This new effort, "If the River Was Whiskey," is kinda meh at best.

If you're interested in a Spin Doctors "come-back", check out 2005's "Nice Talking to Me".  Kick ass album, on par with PFOK.

Yeah, the lead singer of the Spin Doctors went to school with all of the Blues Travelers,  and was a member in an earlier  version of the band.    Blues Travelers, Spin Doctors and Joan Osborne (among others) were the regular house acts at the  Nightingale Bar in NYC in the late 80s/early 90s.   The band members would often inter-mingle and jam with one another during sets.   In 1992  John Popper later spun this scene into the HORDE Festival, bringing in Phish, Widespread Panic, Dave Matthews Band and other "jam" bands that giged with at various locations .   Which brought about the revival of the modern "jam band" scene .... for better or worse, depending on one's point of view.

They pissed me off after Little Miss Can't Be Wrong pissed off some feminist biatches (I was a feminist, but not a biatch about it). Spin Doctors came out and farking APOLOGIZED for the lyrics and explained that "we aren't saying ALL women are like this" blah blah. Bunch of farking wimps.

Went to Horde 98 north of Detroit. Met Ben Harper and the innocent criminals. They played an outstanding set. Saw the SD singer have a jam with some straglers on 2nd stage. One of the girls we went with flipped out when we decided to have beers in the lot instead of watch Barenaked ladies. She could not comprehend how we could not give a fu(k for them.

I think the bad rap they got was because MTV had Two Princes on their rotation every 15 minutes for ages.  I blame MTV, it's easier.
