Fred Pohl wrote a story about how astronauts that traveled together had to be kept in separate cities because they hated each other so much when they came back. The story was about two of them meeting by chance. I forget the name; anyone?

Whoa, I had no idea he wrote so many books.  I only read Gateway, but it was quite good.

What movie? I mean, "dude going insane in space and slaughtering people" isn't exactly a distinguishing characteristic these days. That's been going on since Bilbo tried to kill the Gatekeeper, although that was really just anthropomorphizing 2001.
