(The Hollywood Reporter)   Head of CNN and architect of NBC's demise Jeff Zucker says CNN is held to a "higher standard" than its cable news rivals, because people actually expect trivial things like facts and correct reporting from the Cable NEWS Network   (hollywoodreporter.com) divider line 17

"That's completely unfair. We made a mistake in Boston where we reported there had been an arrest. In fact, we corrected that mistake with 45 minutes," he said, noting that other outlets made the same error but took longer to own up to it.

This is the standard we are supposed to use to judge news organizations?  I can hear it now.

(James Earl Jones Voiceover)  THIS is CNN. Nobody issues retractions faster!

Now let's go to Wolf Blitzer to see what celebrities are tweeting about this, but first, a commercial disguised as news.

No worries CNN - I don't believe you have any standards at all.

I guess that's true. I expect absolutely no standards at all from Fox and MSNBC, whereas I look upon CNN with contempt. I guess "contempt" is a higher standard, if you look at the scale the right way.

If it weren't for Fareed Zakaria, I wouldn't watch CNN at all.

Zucker has turned CNN into a farce.

Surely you can't be serious?

Forced to watch this dreck channel in break room at the office.

Really need to find a universal remote that works on that TV.

I love that GPS is on in-between perhaps two of the dumbest shows they produce.

CNN was a farce long before Zucker arrived.  He's made it a farcier farce though.

CNN: We've upped our standards.  Up yours.

The messed up thing is that Zucker's background was news. And when he was head of NBC the only thing he seemed to get right was the news division. Before he was promoted to be boss at NBC he was running The Today Show and at the time he made a bunch of really successful changes.

Higher standard than Fox or MSNBC...don't pat yourselves on the back too much.

CNN is my poison of choice for cable news (when I forget I have a computer).

*facepalm* Now it all makes sense~!

The assclown that FUBARed NBC is now FUBARing CNN.

I get more information out of the half hours each local/national news than I do during any given time at CNN.. I have completely cut myself off of CNN/MSNBC/Faux News because of their complete ineptness on news reporting...
