I HATE the term feminazi but what the feminists are doing here smacks of oppression of the worst sort.

'Lads' mags?' You British people and your funny way of talkin'.

Lads' mags dehumanise and objectify women

So what? Grow up.

If I worked in a bookstore I could sue for sexual harassment because I would have to stock 50 Shades of Gray and romance novels?

So, I'm sure not only will stores be taking down their issues of Maxim, but also Cosmo because I've actually flipped through a Cosmo magazine and it's just as filthier than Maxim.  I mean, there can't be any form of double standard where men's magazines are removed from stores but Cosmo magazines are allowed to stay?

No no, you are missing a chance opportunity. Jump on this bandwagon man.

When the lad mags are off, we can then point towards shiat and shrill like Cosmo, and E, etc.. and say that they only exacerbate women's body issues.

Remember, the enemy of my enemy is my friend

No, I believe we discovered the other day in another Fark thread that women can't be sexist and men can't suffer from sexism. Sorta like the same way Blacks and Mexicans can't be racist.

It's especially ironic considering many of the early porn stars (Annette Haven, Annie Sprinkle etc) were feminists responding to a puritanical patriarchy trying to control their sexuality.

This is why I could never have sex with a man. I could never have sex with someone I respect.

We did. Turns out if you use Glen Beck's radio transcripts as a sort of Bible Code, it reveals how to build a clean source of renewable energy.

Yes, how oppressive, requiring workplaces to follow sexual harassment laws. It's simply outrageous. Everyone knows laws are not made to be enforced.

Displaying these publications in workplaces, and/or requiring staff to handle them in the course of their jobs, may amount to sex discrimination and sexual harassment

Using that logic I could claim having to change the sanitary bags in a ladies washroom to be a form of harrasment.  I have some really troubling news for these retards, magazines like Maxim, Zoo, etc are about 20% scantily clad women/sex articles and 80% advertising, direct or indirect.  In other words, it's Cosmo with dick jokes, get over it.

Just have the straight guys handle the lad's mags. Women can handle Cosmo. Everyone is happy, except the customers who deal with sticky pages.

Watch it-- you're talking to one of the biggest trolls on Fark. I've watched this super troll get curb-stomped by everyone in a 500-comment thread and keep on chugging. Don't expect it to respond with reason. Treat it with caution. And laugh when no one listens to it.

Because men don't give a shiat.  The more women who get tricked into thinking the male body is appealing the better.

Wait, isn't the Telegraph the one that's a real newspaper?  Meaning this is a non-imaginary story?

... and if so, won't putting them in brown paper with just a title like in the states pretty much negate the hostile work environment-type complaint they're talking about?  I mean, the only way to see anything other than the cover is to actually pick up the mag and read it, which is why Cosmo, for instance (mentioned a few posts up) is very careful about what it puts on the cover where male porn usually isn't.

//Albeit, brown-bag being a sufficient legal remedy in the states doesn't necessarily translate to the UK, they essentially don't have free speech statues at all.

That's next. After that, members of PITA will object if they have to stock cookbooks that have meat recipes, MADD members if they have to stock books about bartending, and so on. The "I'm offended" industry knows no limits.

He's really underrated. Legit and his HBO special were both pretty great.

Ok, in that case, I want legislation against ragmags like Us, People, and all their ilk because I don't give a damn who's humping who, who had bad plastic surgery, who's a fatass, who lied about what but there it is staring at me while I'm waiting in line.  Does it educate ANYONE? No.  Do it give people a complex about their body and the need to be thinner, prettier and more appealing? HELL YES IT DOES and that can't be totally healthy.

I like him as a comedian (his stand-up is freakin' hilarious), but I could never get into Legit... just never interested me.
