I've booked my cruise on the Morro Castle. I heard it's a hot ship.

swaxhog: AngryDragon: Well done.

On the other hand, WTF is with the cruise ship issues lately?  I can't remember there ever being a major problem on a cruise, with a couple notable exceptions, and now it seems it's happening every other week.

Because for the last 10-15 years it's been a race to steal as much money from everyone that you can damn the future. In the case of cruise lines, hiring incompetent temp staff and paying them next to nothing.  Ignoring regular maintenance for 'just one more run' over and over. If they can shift a few million from this into bonus checks, what's the worse that can happen? A few ships sink, maybe they get fired and take a few more million in a golden parachute. They didn't give a shiat about the company in the first place, it's just another business to rob into bankruptcy and move on to the next.

You sound tense, maybe you need a vacation?

At this point, I'm going to continue to book trips on the Disney Cruise Line just to annoy as many farkers as possible in one reservation.

Dejah: Royal Caribbean does cruises properly.  Except for their alcohol prices, they're a great cruise.

if you are not sneaking booze into your checked luggage in a mouthwash bottle...you are not cruising the right way.

Kibbler: Eventually a couple hundred people will die on one of these deathtraps. Then we'll begin a ten-year process that will culminate in watered-down regulations and fat tax credits for cruise companies.

You sound like a glass-half-empty kind of guy.

shiat like this just reminds me why I'm never putting my family onto a big floating buffet that's one clusterfark away from becoming Lord of the Flies.

Is there some kind of voodoo curse going around for cruise ships lately? I mean I *know* there's one on Carnival, but was this just an errant curse targeting system or...?
